Golden Italy — Restaurant in Rome

Absolutely awful.. if I could give this zero stars here i would do as i can easily and honest say it's the worse service i have ever received from anywhere around the world I've been, so bad infact that we didn't even receive an service whatsoever! Myself and 3 others decided to go there for dinner here as we were holidaying in the area. We arrived there and sat outside at a table at 7.15pm thinking they had opened at 7pm as is stated on the google page about their business. Another couple were drinking wine and looking at a menu. After about 5 minutes sitting there I went inside to ask for a menu to be told by staff they do not open til 7.30.. still a bit puzzled I went and sat down again only to be followed by a female member of staff to be told the table we were sitting at was reserved.. remember this is outside along the street, in total there must be about 20 tables there, each one exactly the same as the next but we were told we had to get up and they moved up to the table right next to it. By then some more people had arrived and sat at a few different tables.. waiters came out to them straight way and gave them their menus.. all the while we were still sitting there waiting and thinking this isn't great but still we expected a waiter to come along and hand us some menus at any moment.. 3 or 4 minutes more went by but still nothing, I went to the counter inside the door and asked for menus to which they looked shocked I'd ask.. I asked were they open and they said yes we are just open now even though customers who came way after us had been attended to by staff several minutes before that, a male waiter then came over to our table and handed us one menu in English and 3 others all in Italian. He asked us if we wanted to order drinks but as we hadn't had a chance to look at menu we declined until we decided what we wanted.. after discussing the arrogant treatment we received there we decided we did not want to give our business or money to such a poorly run excuse for a business.. It looked like the only people golden italy have time for are their regular customers and they don't have a damn about a group of tourists looking to give them their custom. Truly shocking and disgusting are the only words I can describe the level of arrogance I received at golden city. Do yourself a favour and avoid them like...

TOP TIER SCAM We came at lunch time. First we waited 10 minutes on empty terrace, after that we better went inside to get menus. They either dont have eng menu or just gave us italian for lack of care. Waiter was highly inpolite and we were met with strict words like "no pizza ok?" "Buratta finish ok?" With very arogant intonation and body language. We ordered and finished our food, after that even thou empty restaurant they left empty plates on the table for good 15 minutes. Nobody cared to ask about coffee or dessert. We went to pay inside and to my very surprise the bill included Service fee. We told the cashier lady we were not satisfied a bit with the service and she replied that ist mandatory for tissues and cutlery. Are you joking honestly? We are sending our warmest regards to management and we only hope this is not something you would put your signature under because this is just awfull way to do business. So food was good, service was shocking. We waited quite some time to be served and longer for food to arrive. Locals seem to have a fast track service. Tuna salad was sent from kitchen minus the tuna because they had run out of tuna. I think they hoped we would not notice, which obviously we did. Meal was agreed to be replaced with salmon instead of the tuna which actually became a different dish all together and more expensive. On paying the bill they tried to charge us for both the tuna and salmon and staff became extremely rude and defensive over the obvious mistake on their part.
