I've never given a one star review and promised myself I'd sleep on it before posting..this was our last meal in Rome and wanted to make sure my low score wasn't influenced by the other great meals we had eaten in the city on this and previous trips .. When seated and ordering I went for the carne menu ..lasagna.. veal ..side salad and fruit salad ..I was then shown a different menu with grilled Chicken instead "..if you don't like chicken then this (what I asked for) is possible I like to take staff recommendations they know what's good so I went for the recommendation ...my partner then ordered again to be offered something different , again fair enough .. The food was awful the lasagna was cold in the middle (fridge chill cold) and warm in the corners, the chicken itself as you can see from the picture was a lazy attempt at butterfly chicken (spilt down the middle flattened and basically burnt with the bones still in picture below ) it was impossible to remove the meat from the bone as it was so dry. My partners veal was cooked well as was her pasta although very bland,
The toilet ..this is a cupboard with cleaning products and weirdly hair gel on display ..no toilet seat and no toilet paper ,
The staff seemed nice enough other than the suggestions of courses we didn't ask for and when taking away the chicken asking "no good" knowing themselves it was sub par.
It's maybe worth noting this was a lunch service and perhaps the standard is higher in the evening but the pencil scrawls over the menu suggests that there may be a wee bit of work needed to catch up with...
Read moreI could gave 0 star if I could, for the rude waiter. I came for lunch when the while restaurant is pretty empty. I order pizza and wine. Everything was ok until when I am almost done. The waiter came and asked if I was finished, but in the meantime he tried to take away my dish. I thought he didn't heard what I said. So l smiled at him and said that I am almost done but I am not done yet. He then said that I was the for 1 hour and I was taking a table. 1 hour is not too long for lunch and I did wait fort three good for 15 min. Now If there were people waiting and there was no opening, I could understand, even though je still shouldn't be rude. However, there were 17 table open at the time. I quickly finished my food in 3 min and asked for check. When the check came, I put down my credit card right away to save him some time. And he told me its cash only. There was no sign for cash only and next table just turned to me and told me they used credit card. Overall, a very bad experience. Will never come back to the restaurant even though its right at the...
Read moreIf you’re looking for cold meatballs, foul-smelling tripe, and an attitude from the staff that suggests you’re the problem for expecting edible food — congratulations, you’ve found the right place.
The “meatballs” arrived cold inside, with only the tomato sauce being lukewarm. When I politely pointed it out, the staff insisted it was supposed to be like that — apparently, in this restaurant, basic food safety is optional.
The tripe smelled so bad I wondered if it had been sitting out since the Roman Empire. The pasta and oxtail were both so salty I started to question whether I was supposed to drink a liter of water between each bite.
Portions? Laughable. You’d get more food in a sample tray at a supermarket.
Between the miserable food and the arrogant, dismissive service, this was easily one of the worst and most insulting meals I’ve ever had. Save yourself the disappointment — there are plenty of real restaurants in Rome. This isn’t...
