We had 10 people in our party (5 kids/5 adults). This restaurant was extremely accommodating! The atmosphere was perfect! The service was friendly and made us feel like family. The food was truly the best we have had and with 10 people, we ordered a bit of everything! The Norwegian salmon slices with orange was so fresh and had the best flavor (if you like salmon, do not miss out on this!). The Bruschetta al pomodoro had the freshest ingredients that were seasoned to perfection and the bread it was on had the best ratio of crunch to softness. I will note that my sister liked it with some balsamic added. My husband and I found it to be amazing just as it was served. With 10 people we definitely ordered an array of meals and each was incredible! The ingredients were so fresh and the flavors all melded perfectly together. Here is a list of what we ordered (and recommend): Risotto ai Funghi Porcini - AMAZING! Must love porcini mushrooms as they have a strong flavor. Fettuccini ai Funghi Porcini - this was probably my least favorite of everything I tried and it was still delicious. The mushrooms have a very strong and distinct flavor that you really have to love to like the dish. If you love them, this was great! Penne all’Arrabbiata - not too spicy at all. The spice hit at the end, the way it should, and never overpowered the dish while still giving it an incredible burst of flavor with every bite Spaghetti alla carbonara - perfection in a dish! Not too heavy and the flavors blended perfectly. Bucatini all'amatriciana - my very picky daughter’s absolute favorite! The best all’amatriciana we have ever had! Tonnarelli cacio e pepe - wow! This is the first time I have tried this. While I don’t have others to compare it to, I can say it was, without a doubt, one of the best flavored pasta dishes I have ever tasted. Penne al Pomodoro - exactly what you would expect and the flavor was right on par with all the other dishes Frittura di Calamari e Gamberi - I did not taste the prawns but the calamari was the best calamari I have ever tasted. It felt like it would melt in my mouth it was so tender. The breading was light and perfectly seasoned Cotoletta di Pollo con patate fritte - this chicken cutlet was cooked so well and seasoned to perfection. Absolutely delicious! We also had an amazing Prosecco (not sure which one as we just ordered a glass and never looked at the bottle) and the limoncello was wonderful! A stronger flavor than others I have had but we all loved it! This truly was an incredible dining experience for our entire family. We were extremely impressed with everything, including the prices. We look forward to the day we get...

My wife and I stayed in Rome for a week. We are well traveled and have been to many parts of Europe and Asia over the years. This wasn’t our first trip to Italy, we’ve been to Venice, Lake Como, Milan, and Florence. On our first day we asked our hotel for recommendations, and they told us to try La degusteria del principe. Small restaurant, cozy atmosphere, open daily from 11am to 1am without any break in between lunch and dinner. Our lives changed after having our first meal here. The food was incredible! The staff are extremely friendly, and we instantly fell in love with this place.
Over the course of the week, we tried all the big-name restaurants in Rome, but we kept thinking about La degusteria del principe. We went again for lunch, then again, the same day, for dinner! By this time, it was our 3rd time visiting the restaurant and with time running out we decided to return for a 4th and 5th time.
Day 1 lunch – tonnarelli cacio e pepe and tonnarelli al tartufo pasta Day 2 lunch – lasagna and tonnarelli al tartufo pasta Day 2 dinner – frittura di calamari e gamberi, bucatini all’amatriciana, tonnarelli al tartufo pasta Day 3 lunch – soute di cozze alla partenopea, risotto alla crema di scampi, tonnarelli al tartufo pasta Day 4 lunch – bruschetta al pomodoro, ravioli ai filetti di pomodoro, spaghetti alle vongole, and lasagna
This restaurant has the best food and the friendliest people. We tried so many things on the menu with each visit and everything was amazing! The prices are extremely reasonable also! We are so happy to have experienced this hidden gem. We always left with a big smile on our faces and with full stomachs.
Thank you so much to Leonardo and Tuhin for your kindness and hospitality! You will not be forgotten! We will recommend your restaurant to all our friends and family visiting Rome. We wish you both continued success and hope to visit your restaurant again when we return to Rome!

Read moreWe came after reading all the good comments but the experience was extremely disappointing.
We ordered two risotto, one with scampi cream and one with mushroom. While the scampi cream one was normal and lacked a bit of flavour, the mushroom one was terrible. It tasted like porridge with mushroom water, could not have another bite.
We also ordered two classic pasta, amatriciana and carbonara. The Amatriciana had a really strong flavour of canned tomato, which was not what I expect to have in Italy, but still edible. The carbonara was horrific. It had a really strong plant based cream taste, with no aroma from guanciale or pancetta or egg yolk. This is what I could find in my home town but definitely not something traditional in Italy. Generally, all dishes we had were blend and with no flavour. Please expect to add extra condiment and salt to your dish when you come visit.
Further to this, please be extra cautious on your final bill. It was stated on the menu that there should be no caperto or no servizio. Yet, I was told to pay a 10% charge (was named something start with "m", I forgot to ask for a copy for the receipt, hence didnt remember the exact wording). Being a tourist, I completely understand that there is different tipping culture in different countries. If there is a charge, do state that clearly somewhere in your restaurant. The whole situation of stating no service charge but wanting to charge one is just a scam.
This meal was supposed to be our last meal in Italy. We ended up rushing to another pasta place under heavy rain for authentic carbonara, before leaving the country.
Think twice before you enter La degusteria...
