Amodei — Restaurant in Rome

I am not saying the food was bad. but the service, particularly one server/cashier was very rude Such a RUDE PERSON. YOU RUINED MY LAST DAY in ROME.

I am hugely disappointed of one male staff's attitude wearing glasses. I visited Rome for a day, as a quick trasnfer. From the beginning of entrance, he didn't say a word, or hello to me although the guy was mingling with all the customers except me. Giving a glipse, and sign of "you sit anywhere". Second, he gave me a menu, he just put it. Taking menu, No repeat, not a single word. Serving my dishes? not a single word or eye contact.

The Final moment was When I was paying. HE JUST SHOW ME THE NUMBER OF HOW MUCH THE FOOD WAS, NO EYE CONTACT, NOT A EXPLNATION OR WHAT. so I gave him a card and even till the end, no "THANK YOU, HOW WAS THE MEAL?" or anything. But I saw he was nicely smiling to everyone who were paying before. Dude, at least you can tell me how much was the cost, I am not a deaf LOL

SO I ASKED "Oh, you are saying not a single word to me?" in a very calm way. Then he said, "Sorry miss... I am too tired, too many guests, I cannot talk everyone, if they don't speak to me, I dont speak" That is not cool.Do you think this is an explanation?

DUDE, I saw you having a chitcat, nice conversation, asking question to numerous people. Is it me being an Asian, women, or a single customer? there would be numerous reason why being so arrogant and ignorant.

When we got to Rome after sailing from Fort Lauderdale I needed a break from the ship's food. When traveling i always try to eat local food and our hotel recommended Amodei for good Italian food. My wife and another couple and I stopped in. There were several Italian dishes that sounded interesting but I knew what I needed: pizza and a cold IPA. The restaurant did not disappoint. Pizza and beer just like back home!! (northern Minnesota) We were the first customers of the day and Tamara was all alone but the food was great, service was quick and Tamara was very accommodating and friendly. There were little things she did that demonstrated that she takes pride in her work. We are running out of time but we'll somehow find a way to get back to Amodei for Italian food. I highy recommend this restaurant!!

On our last night in Rome we went out late for our last meal. After multiple restaurants we tried had their kitchens closed one of the servers recommended Amodei to us. It was the perfect last meal to end our 10 day tour of Italy. The wine selection was overwhelming and Marco helped us pick an excellent bottle of wine when the bottle we asked for was out. It was a less expensive bottle than the one we originally ordered, but it was a great choice by him. We ordered ravioli with spinach and ricotta and a delicious tagliere with Bruschetta. We couldn’t finish the tagliere and Marco packed it up to take back to our hotel and it was perfect for breakfast before our flight. We will definitely return on our next trip to Rome!
