Tourists Beware! My husband and I have spent many weeks in Rome, eating at great restaurants. At this utterly pretentious "Bistrot," with a very snobby senior waiter (why be snobby when you're a waiter?), I asked for a glass of house wine. The snobby waiter free poured me half an inch of a glass of wine (no exaggeration: half an inch! of mediocre wine!!!!) and charged 7 euros for it (roughly $11 CAD). My husband ordered two bottles of Perone: charged 10 euros for each!!! My Aperol spritz also cost 10 euro. When we went to pay for the bill, there was an additional 4 euro "Coperto"/cover charge which another of the waiters tried to justify, saying it was common practice in Rome (not true at all!). Customers should have the choice to tip or not (which we usually do when the service is good). These people are not an authentic Italian restaurant, just in the business of ripping off unsuspecting tourists. Not very smart, because when we have an experience like this, we would never again eat in a place like this. This place is a pretentious rip-off. There are multiple restaurants in the area where you can get authentic Italian cuisine, and reasonably-priced drinks. Don't fall for this one. Not to mention that it is on a busy thoroughfare with...
Read moreI recently dined at Lima Bistrot, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring that our needs were met throughout the evening. The food was equally impressive, offering a taste of authentic Peruvian cuisine with generous portions that are sure to satisfy.
One of the standout features of Lima Bistrot is their unique pizza, which blends Italian and Latin flavors in a way that truly elevates the dish. The crust is slightly thicker, with more dough and cheese, making for a rich and satisfying bite. If you're a cheese lover, I highly recommend trying the 4-cheese pizza—it's simply delicious.
However, there are a couple of downsides worth mentioning. The restaurant doesn't accept American Express, which can be inconvenient for some diners. Additionally, the air conditioning is only available in the back area, which might make the dining experience less comfortable during warmer days.
Despite these minor drawbacks, Lima Bistrot offers great food and service that make it well worth a visit. Whether you're in the mood for traditional Peruvian dishes or a unique twist on pizza, you'll find something...
Read moreAverage food, more tourist geared. We were exhausted from travel and it was open and close to our hotel, so we went for it. Outdoor seating drew locals, we unfortunately sat inside where loud disco/dance music played alongside annoying disco lights. Oddly out of place for a dining atmosphere. The lights just need to go, it’s like an identity crisis between wanting to be a club or a nice restaurant. We had pasta, nothing mind blowing. I will say this, the pizza coming out looked pretty damn impressive. If you come that might be the way to go! Service seemed great for us, they were nice and we were in and out pretty quick which was nice given...
