I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mile Restaurant in Rome, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. From the moment I walked through the door, I was met with the warm ambiance of this quaint yet sophisticated establishment, nestled in the heart of the San Giovanni area. The staff welcomed me with open arms, providing service that was both attentive and discreet, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
The menu, a celebration of Italian and Mediterranean flavors, offers a delightful variety of dishes that cater to various dietary preferences, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. Each dish I tried was a testament to the chef's creativity and passion for cuisine, crafted from fresh, high-quality ingredients that spoke to the rich culinary heritage of the region.
The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the veal, slow-cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. It was accompanied by a recommendation from the staff to try their Nebbiolo, which complemented the dish beautifully, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Mile Restaurant has masterfully created an atmosphere that encourages diners to relax and savor every bite of their meal. It's a place where food is not just eaten but experienced, where every detail from the presentation to the ambiance contributes to an unforgettable culinary journey.
In conclusion, my visit to Mile Restaurant was nothing short of wonderful. It's a gem in Rome that offers an exceptional dining experience, marrying the warmth of Italian hospitality with the sophistication of gourmet cuisine. Whether you're a local or a visitor, make sure to add Mile to your list of must-visit...
Read moreWow, what an experience. My girlfriend and I took the trip of a lifetime to Paris, Dublin, Galway (where I proposed), Stockholm, and Rome, and this was the last stop before we left for the airport at 4am. I have worked in restaurants for many years, including one of the top-rated steakhouses in the U.S. I had high expectations for the European cuisine, but honestly was quite underwhelmed throughout our trip (with the exception of a breakfast place in Ireland). This place blew me away. I can't say for certain if they allow everyone to do this... but I asked the Chef if he would do the honor of picking my wine, appetizer, meat dish, seafood dish, and dessert for me, he accepted, and everything was on point. My fiancé and I traded plates 1/2 way through each course, so we got to try 8 dishes, and we could not have been happier (of course we were stuffed to the max)! The server was very attentive compared to the European norms, which we appreciated, he kept our drinks full and kept us updated on our courses genuinely checking in to make sure we were okay with what the Chef prepared. The chef was enthusiastic and kind, and was happy to take a picture with me (I'm on the left, server on the right, fiancé took the pic). If I ever make it to Italy again, I will be back! 10/10 would recommend...
Read moreCute spot, small and cozy. The place was mostly full but somehow it was all with one front of house, one dishwasher and the owner/chef.
Ordered the eggplant “meatballs”, zucchini flan (was kind of like a chawanmushi) and some porcini fries to start. The flan had an interesting texture, and was much lighter than I expected.
For primi, had a pasta with veal ragu sauce, an amatricione with prosciutto instead of pancetta, and a gnochetti. The veal was standout of the night
The mains were a tender soy glazed pork belly, a tuna tataki, and a rabbit tornado served with a chicken liver mousse. The tuna was a bit of a miss, not tasting the freshest, but the rabbit was just amazing, juicy and flavourful, with good caramelization, and the mousse was liver done right.
Desserts were good, as was the wine, and the bill was quite reasonable for the quality and taste.
We got pretty tipsy from the bottles of wine, but the staff were friendly and patient with us, and helped us get a taxi at the end...
