We found the restaurant on Google and decided to go there based on the reviews and recommendations. As we arrived, there was a line outside since the restaurant was full. We never wait and always decide to just go somewhere else, but this time we decided otherwise as this is supposedly a great pasta place.
We waited approx. 30 mins to be seated. Then we got a table, and waited another 10-15 mins to order. We ordered a combo offer - pasta + dessert + water for €14 per person.
The pasta took about 20 mins to arrive. I ordered Carbonara which is their speciality.
The food that arrived looked good but the pasta had almost no bacon (only 3 small pieces as opposed to other plates, sent to a nearby table, that had a good amount of bacon on top). So, we asked the waitress for more bacon. She took my plate and threw away the food 😧 asking me to wait 5 mins. Honestly, I thought she'd just bring more bacon, not throw a whole plate of a freshly made food.
A few minutes later she came back with a new plate. This time it had bacon, but the pasta was hard - felt undercooked, and it was swimming in the egg and cream... I ate it, but was not happy with the food. I felt it was rushed and a let down.
Then came time for dessert. We had an apple cake and lemon sorbet.
The apple cake was dry and felt stale, and the lemon sorbet was okay but I would never pay €3 for it (that's the menu price).
Quite unhappy with the whole experience, we proceed to the till to pay. The hostess informed us that we'll get a discount due to the bad experience. The discount was 10% which is €2,40 but they also charged us a €2 service charge (apparently each person is charged €1 on top of the bill for service charge) so we ended up getting a €0.80 discount, which felt like a joke..
The whole experience was extremely underwhelming. The place seemed to be understaffed and things were rushed. I would not go...
Read moreEdit: this business owner's response is full of bull. "The girl told her that if she changed the pasta she would have to pay for it" - this is a straight up lie. The waitress said she would change it and didn't tell us that we'd have to pay for BOTH dishes until we noticed it on our bill. Just save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. The owner obviously doesn't care about any feedback from customers - just read their responses for other negative reviews.
Worst dining experience, in terms of both food and service. We came in for lunch and ordered two of the combo meals - one carbonara and one all'amatrichina. Both were salty but especially the carbonara - to the point where it felt like we were drinking sea water.
We brought this up to the waitress who reassured us that this was how it is expected to taste (and how all other carbonaras were supposed to taste) even though we've tried plenty of others around Rome and Milan - and repeatedly blamed our tastes for our poor experience.
We ordered a shrimp fettuccine as a replacement (also wasn't good) and she immediately took the carbonara back. At the end, she charged us for all 3 items at full price even though she removed one of the dishes immediately and continued to blame us for this experience.
Overall poor service and food, highly recommend avoiding this place.
Fwiw the cherry tart and apple cake (dry af) tasted like they came straight out of a low budget...
Read moreThe food was a disappointment. To be fair, for the price it might have been ‘fine’ at most but nothing like the 4,6 star average that you are expecting after reading the reviews. I had a lasagna together with a tiramisu (for which I understandably payed a little extra) and a beer. The bottled beer might just have been the highlight of this combination. The lasagna was nothing special and you’ll probably get a similar experience when microwaving a supermarket lasagna. Microwaving must be also their way of heating this lasagna. This I expect due to my friend having some ice cold zones in his lasagna. Now we get to the desert. Again, this looked like it had been picked up straight from the nearest supermarket being served in a plastic cup. It tasted like some sort of instant tiramisu as expected and a self respecting chef should not be proud of this creation. Something that really blew my mind was the fact that one of my friends got served a piece of pie that had been sitting on some return table since we entered the restaurant. I guess this does mean they won’t throw away leftovers which could be seen as a plus. Jokes aside, this pie was very dried out. The waitress didn’t seem all that happy to serve this food either and was bordering angry when taking up orders. All in all not a great experience unfortunately, but maybe if you lower your standards before visiting it might just be passable as a...
