Came here for a Thursday dinner. We ordered fried baby artichokes, which was an excellent appetizer. They were fried to crispy and good for sharing. If you’re ordering just for yourself, go with the Jewish style version (just one but way bigger.) For the secondi we had spaghetti with black garlic sauce. This was sooo good, it tastes like the Chinese noodles with black bean sauce. Warning, the black garlic is fermented, and the sauce is pungent and vinegary. We love it. The main dishes we ordered beef tripes, grilled porcini mushrooms and nettle, they were all excellent dishes. Of course, we had to end the amazing dinner with tiramisu and fresh dates. And it was definitely a high note. On top of that, our server was extremely friendly. She knows the food so well and answered all of our questions with great knowledge. We sat outside, it was nothing to rave about but it didn’t impact our experience at all. The restaurant was fully booked but we were able to get seated, so that was a blessing.

The crazy busy restaurant down the street was fully booked and we stumbled across this warm restaurant. We walked in here without reservation and fortunately they had a table free. The host and and waiter had beyond great hospitality skills. As a rare patron who be doesn't eat meat or cheese, the host explained the main menu where they could accommodate (I didn't want pizza). There were so many options that could be cooked without meat, and I appreciated the unexpected attention to my allergy. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, I recommend this place as they'll go out of their way to transform a traditional Roman dish into something still tasty. We had spaghetti made with fermented black garlic sauce. Super simple and delicious - needs to be their signature dish.

In one word - wow! The first place in Rome where I felt like they weren’t trying to cater to tourists, but rather making the food they loved - using the season’s best local produce - and inviting you to try. Didn’t have a single “popular” dish (though they serve some of those to) and had so much fun experimenting with their specialties. Of special not was the sweet-sour onion, the marinated anchovies and the spaghetti with squid and cime di rapa. A light dessert of homemade gelato with a mound of wild strawberries was the perfect note to end the meal on. As for the service - our waitress was lovely, helpful and patient, and gave us excellent recommendations. Combined with good pricing and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s definitely a place I’ll come back to again.

Updating because of the response from the owner. Evidence of how u will be treated here.

Don’t make a reservation because then you cant bail without a cost. They legit light incenses to cover up the poop smell outside. “Fine dining”!? lol more like “filth dining”. Just because you make it expensive doesn’t mean it’s fine dining. Your drink list is printed on office paper from a Microsoft word doc. If you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.

When you verbally stereotype cultures, thats leads to discrimination. Which is exactly what your staff did.

Comparing this experience to McDonald’s hvac is laughable considering that AC is for a whole room indoors and you have two heaters above every single table. Very different. My reviews speak for themselves, I mostly give 5 stars unless something is really off like this place. We waited for the bill for over 20 mins so if you wanted us out maybe you should’ve had more attentive service. you could’ve put us on the edge of the seating arrangement if you didn’t want the 2 heaters that were off (out of 20) to “affect others”. We were going to order more but the eggplant appetizer was undercooked the mushroom pasta dish completely sucked so we stopped ordering immediately. Don’t have a public restaurant if you can’t take a critique.

Original review: This was such a disappointment. The hostess was rude, she put us at the worst table outside when barely anyone else was around (early 19:45 dinner) and I even made made my reservation over 3 weeks before. We were seated outside where there are two heaters over every single table and we asked if the heaters above us could be turned off, the host turned them off but then came back 5-10 mins later to tell us that people requested that the heaters be plugged back in, and we told her we were warm and to please not and she responded “well Italians don’t run hot like Americans” 😳👀 There were only one other couple around us at this time and 5 mins after this happened even the other couple asked for the heaters to be adjusted because they were warm as well. I don’t believe her at all and I think we were being profiled for being young and American. We asked our server if we could turn them off after this happened and he said “sure no problem!”. Our waiter was kind but this really soured the dinner experience. It smelled awful outside due to street sewer which really ruined the vibe. The food definitely wasn’t good enough for the experience. Cacio e pepe was delicious but everything else was...
