Pronto - Pizza e Cucina — Restaurant in Rome

Absolute terrible! Worst restaurant experience in Rome ever. My wife and I were in Rome for one week. Most of the time, we had dinner in the historic center of Rome, but the last night, we thought we should have dinner in the neighborhood were we lived, so we ended up at Pizzeria Pronto. We ordered a 1/2 l of red and white, some bruschetta and Caprese for starters. My wife ordered Pizza as main course, and I ordered seafood pasta. After 20 minutes, we got the starter, must still had no wine. Strange, because there were very few guests. The bruschetta was ok, but the Caprese was no good. Tomatoes were green. Then, after 45 minutes, I got my Pasta, that was far from “aldente”. It had hardly touched the boiling water before it was served. It was hard as rock. At that time, I did complaine and asked the waiter to return it to the chef. Of course I expected a new one. After pasta was returned, my wife got her pizza. I told the waiter that my wife and I wanted to have dinner together, but he told me they had two separate kitchens, and it was impossible to coordinate serving at the same time. What??? By the time my wife had finished her pizza, I asked the waiter about my pasta. He told me I was not going to get a new one. We decided to leave. When I refused to pay for anything but the wine, the manager threatened me, and said he would call the police unless I paid. Because it was not a big amount of money, I decided to pay, and gave him my credit card, but no, I had to pay in cash, because the terminal was out of order. So I asked, how do you expect me to pay? I did not bring cash. He told us there was an ATM 1 Km away. My wife had a 20 Euro bill, we gave him that and left. No police came. We had a wonderful 10 year wedding anniversary in Rome, but Pizzeria Pronto Almost ruined our last night. End of story, we walked 300 m down the street to IButteri, a wonderful Resturant, with service minded and efficient staff, and most important, the best food we had in Rome that week. Never ever go to...

I have been to 50+ countries but this is by far the worst service I have got in a restaurant. Went with four friends and here are some bad services we got : 1) waited 15 minutes to place an order 2) after 10 minutes the order went in, we were told that pastas were not available 3) we ordered 3 pizzas and 2 calzones and one calzone never came and literally after an hour we had to check to found out that it wasnt placed 4) took us 30 minutes for a bottle of wine to come (we asked for it three times)5) tried to overcharge us with antipasti we didnt order 6) they said they did not accept card even though they had the card machine. We said we had no cash to pay for the full amount and then they accepted card (i know there are tax/commissions but it was a dinner which costed nearly 70-80 euros not a lunch that costed 7-8 euros) Overall, the worst experience and i would not recommend any tourists going here. Locale carino con personale accogliente, servizio abbastanza veloce. Sul resto c’è poco da commentare: -la scelta di presentare diverse portate (antipasti, primi, secondi, contorni, pizze, calzoni, crostoni, fritti, dolci) in due pagine contate di menù, porta ad avere una possibilità di scelta molto ristretta.. io sono vegana, tuttavia, di solito riesco sempre a mangiare almeno pasta e insalata, mentre in questo locale l’insalata non è proprio contemplata -antipasti: ne abbiamo ordinati due, gli unici che (almeno apparentemente) potevo mangiare anche io, erano discretamente buoni ma sembravano di quelle cose congelate da mettere due minuti al microonde; -primi: ho preso l’unica pasta semplice del menù (olio, pachino, e basilico) mi è stata portata con del formaggio mezzo sciolto all’interno e non segnalato, al che io sono rimasta un po’ stranita e il cameriere è intervenuto subito portandola indietro, ma non saprei dire se quella che mi è stata portata in seguito fosse una pasta appena fatta o la stessa di prima a cui era stato solo tolto il formaggio.. La cosa certa è che mi è andata meglio del mio ragazzo, che ha ricevuto una gricia talmente immersa nell’olio da risultare stomachevole; -prezzi: assolutamente esagerati, sarebbero stati accettabili se la cucina fosse stata su un altro livello, ma mi sento di dire che, rispetto al servizio ricevuto, abbiamo pagato tanto pur avendo avuto uno sconto non indifferente grazie alla prenotazione...
