In short, the best place for vegan food in Rome. Long version: I went for dinner with my partner and even though it was a bit late they let us in and were very polite about it, letting us sit wherever we wanted. What to say? As a restaurant/cafe, it was perfect: a comfortable atmosphere, really friendly waiters and waitresses and an Italian menu that was very varied and complete. Also, it is very well located, and the prices, even though they might seem a little high at the beginning, are justified for the placement and the food (more on that later). As a vegan place (the only one we could find in Rome), it was everything it should be. The waiters and waitresses are morally aligned with the restaurant, and it doesn't feel like a watered-down sympathy for animals: we felt just at home. The tables each honor a vegan refuge or sanctuary in Italy, and upon questioning, they offer you information about them. I have to say it again: we felt very very welcome, like among friends. And then, the food. The food was extraordinary, it was almost dreamlike. We have both been vegans for a while, and we eat quite well usually, but the food at Buddy Veggy was just something from another world. The flavours were very intense, and you could feel the ingredients were high quality. We ordered a Grizzia Pasta and a Quattro Formaggio, plus some desert (an excellent chocolate brownie, I think), and we haven't eaten a better vegan Italian food in forever (not even in other places at Rome). All in all, we had the best dinner we could think of, at an affordable price, at a well located place, in a great atmosphere. We'll be sure to recommend it to friends and family when they go, and we will eat there again if we ever go back to Rome. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much, keep up the marvelous work you...
Read moreI had an exceptional dining experience at BUDDY Veggy Restaurant Café in Rome. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness truly set this place apart. Unlike some other places in Rome, the waiters at BUDDY were not only welcoming but also genuinely helpful, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of delightful.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Vegan Truffle Pizza. I have had my fair share of pizzas, but this one stood out as the most delectable and memorable pizza I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The perfect blend of flavors and textures, along with the rich aroma of truffle, created a culinary masterpiece that left me craving for more. The Cacio e Pepe is also delicious.
The restaurant's ambiance added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The cozy and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the restaurant's commitment to plant-based cuisine, made dining at BUDDY a truly gratifying experience. From the moment I entered to the moment I left, I felt a sense of satisfaction and contentment that can only come from a perfectly executed dining establishment.
In conclusion, BUDDY Veggy Restaurant Café in Rome is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of praise. From the impeccable service to the sensational Vegan Truffle Pizza, this place is a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience. I left with a full stomach, a happy heart, and the intention to...
Read moreTo put my review in perspective: we live in Berlin aka Europes vegan capital, we’re vegan for over 6 years and real foodies. So it’s not our first vegan restaurant to visit. Buddy Veggy deserves 5 stars without any doubt! The food (Pasta Truffle and Pasta Carbonara, Pizza truffle fungi and Quattro Formaggi, Tiramisu) was well sized, very well cooked (the pasta was perfectly cooked), super tasty and just a dream if you look for vegan traditional Italian classics. The prizes are reasonable considering the cheeses they use (we asked, we order the same from Italy), the portions they serve and how the dishes are executed. The Pizza was yummy and so easy to digest even in the daytime heat. The Tiramisu was just how it should be. As drinks we had big glasses of Aperol Spritz that had a great balance of flavors and we’re not watery at all, proper Prosecco used. And now the most important thing: the staff was lovely, kind and very attentive. You guys made us leave two times with big smiles. Had nice conversations with them about the journey the restaurant took from serving meat some years ago to now having just a few vegetarian options left (egg in the morning brunch menu), two pizzas that are vegetarian. In the near future they go 100% vegan they said. We might come back for a third time (in our three days Rome visit). So all in all HIGHLY...
