Trattoria Angelo Alla Cupola — Restaurant in Rome

Worst service ever. Only spoke very fast Italian and did not try to help us understand. Brought us a white wine even though we clearly said Rosso. This was thankfully not an issue but it only got worse from here. We ordered 1 dish per person and a caprese salad. We then waited a whole hour before we even got the salad, while other customers got plate after plate. They did give us some "free" mozzarella and bread because of the long wait, but when we wanted to pay these free things were on the bill. In total it took 1 and a half hours to get "all" our food, except we only got two out of three dishes. We decided to let it go and just pay, but refused to pay for the free items and service fee. They reluctantly removed the items, but when I went to pay they took my card and walked to the back holding the card and machine. The original price was 52, which was lowered to 43. I managed to get my card back, just when the chef was entering the amount, the lady yelled to him "cinque", expecting me not to understand. I was so excited to eat here from the reviews I read. Once we were seated, it took over 20mins for us to even receive water, in that time I was asked to move my seat more than 3 times for them to get desert or dishes from the cabinet next to me. When someone finally came over to ask for our starters they asked if we wanted a mixed meat and cheese plate, which my partner and I both said no to. The waiter just walked away from us and within a moment I was asked to move over again for them to get dishes, at that point I stood up and was walking out when the waiter aggressively told me there was seating upstairs and to stay. Found this on Google Maps. Great find. Something more than just pizza and pasta although they do this very well also. Very friendly service, waitress spoke good English. Kids loved the food also. Proper Italian restaurant.

We shared a starter plate of cold meats and cheese, which was plenty between four of us (advertised for two.) Lobster tail risotto, mixed seafood spaghetti, spaghetti with shrimps and a spaghetti carbonara, along with four desserts, bottle of house red and water came to 83 euros. Quality was excellent.
