Called to this restaurant on Wednesday lunch time for some lunch after a morning in the Vatican. We where ushered in off the street which we did not mind to much seems to be custom in Italy. We where seated in this lovely looking restaurant served by a gentleman seems like owners son. A coke and water was ordered along with the food out order was chicken Cesar salad pesto pasta and focaccia. While waiting he approached us to tell us a ham and cheese board was been prepared for us it was in the way we said ok. It arrived with no cheese and about 6 bits of ham on it which we where later charged €12 plus 10% (tourist charge ). The water given to us was from the tap not a bottle and charged €4 plus the (tourist charge) so he then asked would we like some garlic bread my wife did yeah and charged €6 for this along with the (tourist charge ). So when the meal was finished we had a coffee each and then the bill came to the tune of €71 there was a €6 service charge with guess what the 10% tourist charge. I paid and did not think twice about it till that evening when we where out for dinner in the beautiful restaurant right next door to it BONO Bottega amazing staff and food. We had a four course meal appetizers 1st serving and second meat serving and dessert along with glass of house wine two beers two cokes and a bottle of water un opened all for €78 and no service charge and no tourist charge but they got a big tip. When I called to this restaurant the next day the chap there (the one who robbed us ) told me he had a wife and kids as if I was going to kill him and said he would get me a beer to make it all ok for robbing me I’ve told the hotel what happened and I was told not the first time they heard this. I’ve contacted the tourist board of Rome to tell them of this to. You give all the good restaurants of Rome a bad name think that tourists are thick or stupid and will pay anything you robbed me shame on you but you clearly need the money more than I do I wish you no look with your restaurant cause I’m one of thousands...
Read moreFrom the moment I crossed the threshold into the Pizzeria, I knew I was entering hallowed ground. This was not just a pizzeria—it was a temple, an homage to the divine marriage of dough, cheese, and sauce, a paradise carved from humble ingredients and elevated to culinary rapture.
The atmosphere was perfectly unpretentious, like an embrace from a beloved, slightly messy grandparent who also happens to be an alchemist of flavor. Golden-hued lights cast a warm, almost ethereal glow, enveloping each table in an intimate sanctuary of comfort and joy.
The food was simple but profound. A symphony of taste and texture that transcends mere sustenance. The crust, oh, the crust! It was perfection incarnate, a holy trinity of crispness, chewiness, and airiness. Each bite revealed delicate layers of blistered dough, whispering of wood-fired magic and a baker’s secret devotion.
And the toppings—dear God, the toppings. The mozzarella melted into a velvety cascade that stretched with each bite like silken threads from the heavens. The pepperoni was spicy, but not overpowering, its edges curling ever-so-slightly, crisped by the flames of an oven that surely has been blessed by the pizza gods themselves. And then, there were the olives, glistening like tiny jewels, their briny tang lifting each bite into realms previously uncharted by human taste buds.
I was not delivered food on that day, I was delivered an experience. A pilgrimage for the soul, a journey to the heart of what it means to love and be loved by pizza.
Leaving the Osteria Pizzeria, tears welled in my eyes, not from sadness but from the profound beauty of this creation. I knew, in that moment, that my life had been...

If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine that transports your taste buds straight to Italy, look no further than Trattoria Bella Notte. Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming restaurant combines a warm ambiance with delectable dishes.
From the moment you step inside, the rustic decor and soft lighting create a cozy atmosphere. The staff is incredibly welcoming, making you feel like part of the family right away.
Now, let's talk about the food! The menu is a delightful assortment of traditional Italian dishes, and each plate is a work of art. I started with the Bruschetta al Pomodoro, and it was bursting with fresh flavors — the tomatoes were ripe, and the basil added a lovely touch.
For the main course, I opted for the Pasta Carbonara, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was rich and creamy without being overwhelming. My dining companion chose the Margherita Pizza, which boasted a thin, crispy crust and a generous topping of fresh mozzarella and basil.
We couldn't resist dessert, and I'm so glad we didn’t! The Tiramisu was light and airy, with the perfect balance of coffee and cocoa flavors. It was the ideal way to conclude our meal.
Overall, Trattoria Bella Notte excels in every aspect—authentic food, charming atmosphere, and friendly service. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Italian fare. I can’t...
