The worst service I’ve ever experienced in Italy. My partner and I ordered 2 courses each and a bottle of wine and spent 100 euros. At 9.15pm we were asked whether we wanted dessert and in the same breath were told that the kitchen was closed and it would not be possible. We were then required to pay the bill even though we were only half way through our bottle of wine. The staff then made it clear we were not welcome as they were closing. The owner came to our table twice to inform us they were closed, even though we still had half a bottle of wine that we had hoped to enjoy but were unable to, due to the poor attitude of the staff. I strongly advise you avoid this restaurant, the staff are obviously jaded and don’t like tourists. If they had wanted to close early they should never had accepted us in the first place. As soon as they took our money, the insincerity and mendacity was obvious. I don’t normally write reviews but I felt so strongly about this terrible experience I wanted to warn others, and strongly advise you to choose...
Read moreAwesome food for a really good price. The steak and pasta dishes were hands down the best I've had in a long time. The steak was cooked to perfection - juicy, tender, and full of flavor. And the pasta dish was simply divine - the sauce was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice. What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly, making sure that our glasses were never empty and that each course was served at the right time. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they were able to make great recommendations based on our preferences.
Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. If you're looking for a delicious steak or pasta dish, look no further. The food is amazing, and the service is even better. I'll definitely be coming...
Read moreThe Agnello (grilled lamb cutlets) with rosemary roast potatoes was excellent, and I complemented the staff. My wife’s wild boar pasta was also very good. Service was quick and efficient. The bread served was unquestionably the worst we’ve had in Italy over the last few weeks. That includes the bread brought to the table and the same bread used for the bruschetta starter. It was like yesterday’s stale bread and the starter was poor because of this. I could see other tables leaving their bread also. I think this is not unique to the restaurant as other places in Gimignano serve very similar if not the same bread. Maybe they just need a better baker in town and serve only fresh bread. The main course for both me and my wife recovered...
