This was an okay B&B. Had a bit of a rocky start since hotels.com didn’t tell us there were very specific check in times (outside of that the B&B has zero options for you to check in). I contacted the B&B about it since we weren’t sure if we could arrive in their allocated time (2:30-6pm). While they did extend it to 7:30pm, they were rude in the process. I asked if they could leave keys for us like many other places to do and they told me no they can’t and what others are doing is illegal (there was no need to comment on others practices, just say no). Also told me they will wait until 7:30 as a courtesy (NOT a minute more)-while factual, also no need to be so harsh about it. I get it, I’ll be homeless for one night in a foreign country if I arrive even one minute after the check in time (which by the way is so early).||||Breakfast was ok- nothing great. They made me a hot latte in the morning, that was nice. Room itself was ok, a bit dated like staying at grandmas house. ||||I would come back to the town but check out another...
Read moreBoutique B&B with only six rooms. We stayed on the top floor and our room was Bonifacio VIII Junior Suite with big bathroom (30 m2) with a view to Tuscan countryside and to the main street both. Absolutely fantastic service. Our bags were carried up to our room. |Breakfast was limited - but had all necessary three different cold cuts, two different cheeses, eggs, yogurt, bread, jams and nice latte. |The location was good - the historic centre of San Gimignano is so small so I think every hotel has a good location - and it was easy to walk everywhere. If you come by car parking lots P3 and P4 are quite near and you can take an elevator up to the town. I believe that if you have to it is also possible to drive in the front of the hotel. Wi-fi worked well. |It was lovely to stay in this historic hotel, former palazzo and home of Talei and Franzesi families. The current owner has done nice job in renovating this place. I recommend, but if stairs is an issue for you, ask the room from the...
Read moreWhen we booked this accommodation we really had no idea what to expect and wow, were we genuinely surprized. Nestled inside the old city of San Gimignano, there are only six bedrooms. Each room is individually named and they are all beautifully appointed and each with an adequate bathroom. The breakfast buffet is very limited but we enjoyed the fluffy hot rolls with delicious cheeses from the area. There is no lift to access any of the rooms and the staircases are steep so this would not suit a traveller with accessible needs. We really enjoyed our two night stay and hope to return there sometime...
