Gelateria Gepi — Restaurant in Santa Margherita Ligure

Unjustified price hikes for ice cream from €23/kg last summer to €28/kg right now , coupled with uncaring and rude staff. I gave them a second chance recently, but their attempt to rip me off was their last. Skip it, there are better alternatives in town (Simonetti is my favorite if you can handle the long lines at peak hours). For clarity: my experience with Gepi is at their shop at Largo Giovanni Amendola. Not inclined nevertheless to visit their other shop in Santa Margherita or the one...

The gelateria serves many gelato flavors, including whiskey, which is delicious. They understand English, and the signage is also in English. Ordering is easy; just point to the flavors, select a cone or cup, and how many scopes. Many people were ordering gelato from this place while I was there. The storefront is small, but there are seats on the outside where you can sit to eat the gelato. The restaurant also serves food if you want something other...

Nel centro storico la storica gelateria propone in menù offre anche crepe dolci e salate, yogurt e qualche altro snack.

In un’occasione ci siamo fermati per uno spuntino ed abbiamo consumato una buona crepe salata con pesto di Prà e stracchino, uno yogurt non indimenticabile con macedonia di frutta, un gelato con cedro e melone, poco cremoso e non convincente nella fragranza dei gusti, un caffè ed una birra (Poretti) media alla spina per un totale di 23,50 in 2, che ci può stare ma alcuni prezzi (yogurt € 7,50...) sono fuori logica per qualità complessiva...

Dopo aver attirato l’attenzione dei due camerieri (un ragazzo ed una ragazza), i quali erano all’interno del locale, ci siamo accomodati in dehor. Dopo alcuni minuti, non arrivando nessuno, sono ritornato all’interno, ma i due ragazzi erano nel laboratorio sul retro e, dopo aver preso autonomamente i menù, sono ritornato all’esterno.

Il servizio poi si è ripreso, ma in questo frangente abbiamo assistito ad un paio di tavoli (turisti stranieri) che lasciano il locale...dimenticati e abbondonati al loro destino...

Aggiungo che ho utilizzato il bagno che meriterebbe maggiore attenzione (e pulizia...)

Direi che sia per la qualità (media) di quanti consumato, che per il servizio non siamo rimasti particolarmente soddisfatti e, mi spiace, ma non credo che ritornerei, né mi sentirei di consigliarvi...
