Overpriced (EUR 6 for coffee) Not hygienic- flies crawling everywhere that scattered when I swat at them w a napkin. The server then YELLED at and physically threatened me , a customer, who took ONE napkin. How I wish this were a joke, but it actually happened. The supervisor should have made him apologize, and offered the drink on the house. A female had to stand between the server and the customer just to get him to peel his face away! physical aggression is unacceptable towards customers. What was sad was this is clearly how they routinely treat customers- zero respect. You can tell the staff is not trained whatsoever. It’s appalling and unacceptable.
Edit: they tried to withdraw the Google map pin but this is exactly accurate and is the establishment I had attended. My report still stands- that on the day I visited, there was at least one physically threatening male staff physically aggressive towards me over his agitation of me taking one single napkin, and he stopped grabbing me only because a woman stepped in between us to block him off (and held him back to restrain him). The literal worst staff I have seen in all of europe. They should be fully ashamed of themselves for pretending it...
Read moreThe food is delicious from the pasta with meat sauces to the salads/ everything is fresh and tastes great! The fresh juices are also very good. The coffee based drinks less so/ poor coffee quality diluted with water and sugar- not ideal.
The bad side is service - the server we got, a tall guy, refused to speak English and I was totally unaccommodating when I asked for a small side salad with just cucumbers and tomatoes.
The worse side is the fact that an older guy who seemed to be the owner was giving an employee a hard time/ they were moving the pots with the miniature tree around and the owner was acting angry which is really not good public relationships doing it in front of a terrace full of customers.
A bit more manners and consideration would go a long way even though they are located on a high traffic turistic area (which means it will attract tourists...
Read moreWhat can we say about Manganelli? I'm sure all of the restaurants in Piazza del Campo are good, but we've now been to Mangianelli twice this week. We've had a couple different waiters, and they're all kind (shout out a mi amigo Dominicano!), and patient with my attempts to order in Italian... The atmosphere is relaxed (front row view of Palazzo Pubblico / there's no rush), and the food is excellent (bruschetta, pasta, pizza [quattro stalgione], calzone de cotto. We also love the Brunello vino della casa. Our price guesstimate excludes the wine (you can easily spend less or more on wine anywhere!). We also excluded extra food we ordered for...
