LIVE THE ITALIAN EXPERIENCE Review by ALEXSARI94. Look for my reviews on Maps! Short Italian version is below.

EXPERIENCE: 5/5 After an amazing and romantic tour in the Tuscany countryside, among natural fields, vineyards and stunning landscapes, we stopped by this restaurant to have a pizza while chilling in the warming atmosphere of Siena’s central square. The view on the square and on sit people all around is amazing and relaxful. Pizza is great (Italian’s honor) as well as the outside terrace.

SERVICE: 4/5 Staff is generally kind, although I felt they had some perplexity about their willingness to let us having our pizza on the terrace (it was almost the closing time). We didn’t have to wait, but we arrived there quite late (around 10pm).

PRICE: 2/5 The restaurant welcomes a lot of tourists and it is in a great spot, yet the price is still way too expensive (11€ average for a pizza. Among the most expensive pizza ever paid, including metropolitan cities like Paris). Yeah, pizza is really great, yet it is not among the best ones I have tasted.

Yesterday late afternoon/begin evening we was at your restaurant for drinks and diner. Our plan was to drink something first in the sun at your terrace and eet something around 6:30PM. However, you forgot our drinks twice. After asking the third time you brought our drinks. Our order was 1 cola cola and 1 spritz. However, you brought 2 spritz. Waiting time more then 40 minutes!

Ok, we ordered our food: 2 slice beef and fries. Food was good, thank you. But you forgot the fries. After asking 4 times we didn’t receive the fries even. Not so friendly answer from your colleagues: ‘they are coming’. ..So, maybe we need to wait still? Sorry, but this is no service.

At least, we where happy to finish our meal. Because in that case we can continue our evening without irritations. But the bill was also not coming. We asked several times.. so I was going to pay by myself inside. Inside your colleague was surprised, because the fries where added on the bill. But we are still waiting this morning for the fries.. his answer was ‘ we are busy and we have so much orders, so we can forget’. Sorry, but this is not an answer. Of course you can be busy, But no apologies, no free drink, nothing.

We are very...

During our recent visit to Siena, we had the pleasure of dining at Il Bandierino. Situated with a perfect view over Piazza del Campo, we couldn't have chosen a better spot to enjoy the evening sun and the bustling atmosphere of the square.

We opted for the pork dish, which was served with perfectly roasted potatoes and a delightful sweet wine reduction. The flavors were impeccable, with the rich sweetness of the wine complementing the savory pork beautifully. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making for a perfect accompaniment.

The atmosphere at Il Bandierino was lively yet relaxed, with a constant flow of people adding to the vibrant ambiance. Sitting there, enjoying our meal and watching the world go by, was an absolute delight. The combination of excellent food, a fantastic view, and a great atmosphere made our evening truly memorable.

We highly recommend Il Bandierino to anyone visiting Siena—whether you're looking for a delicious meal or simply a great spot to soak in the sights and sounds of Piazza del Campo with a...

TOURIST TRAP - Probably the most hobest review you gonna find here Food was 🥴, can be swallowed when you have no other option. - Pizza felt like tomato soup, cheese wasn’t melted and looks like they’re drowning in there (14,5€) - Caesar salad wasn’t authentic idk, looks like someone came on it (12,8€) - 17,50€ for a scrambled egg carbonara btw - Only thing that’s acceptable was “Terre Senesi”, which is “cold meat board + bread” probably brought from close by supermarket (15€) They charged 2,5€ per person for just the table cover, which was just brown recycled paper. What was crazy is that they added 10% tips automatically. When i asked the waiter with lots of beard said it was for the “restaurant tax”, like homie if it’s for the restaurant it wouldn’t say “Servizio”. I would happily give them something if he was being friendly or just even smile to us once. I’ve heard about restaurant scam in Italy but this hits on a different level. Almost 20€ just for the “ Restaurant”. Just pathetic tbh

Super disappointing experience. On the official ERASMUS/ESN page they advertise that they have a €15 student special. We asked 2 servers and they both said they would not honor that. They said they would waive the 20% service fee that is charged to all tables. This is in addition to the coperto, I have never heard of that fee outside of this restaurant and you can see from my post history I have been to multiple Italian restaurants. You do have a nice view of the square and the food is decent but nothing special. It’s quite expensive, €14,50 for a bowl of pasta with mushrooms (pictured). I’m sure there are better restaurants to go to, I will not be back.
