The restaurant is small with 3 tables outside and a few more inside, do not let this fool you into thinking it's more of a takeaway; this place could give quite a few Michelin star restaurants a run for it's money in the flavour stakes. We ordered 3 dishes on a selection type menu, Sorrento gnocchi, melanzane parmigiana and cannelloni. All three dishes were excellent, the cannelloni pasta was perfectly done, just a little bite in the pasta and a lovely pork sausage meat filling in an amazing tomato sauce, with a hint of basil running through. The pasta had been dressed with olive oil and was well seasoned for me, a bit under for my partner however there was no salt and pepper on the table. We also ordered some bread on the side, it was light and fluffy in the centre with a chewy crust covered in salt which allowed us to up the seasoning as it suited us with a bite of bread. The melanzane was well cooked soft enough but keeping enough firmness to hold it nicely as it was sliced, we both thought they could have added more parmigiana to make it richer, but that is a small criticism when the flavour was so divine. The gnocchi was perfect for me, they had stopped cooking the dough before it got gelatinous so they were plump and slightly firm. The sauce was a tomato and mozzarella which was plenty thick enough to coat the gnocchi heavily. Overall the meal was delicious and knocked most Italian restaurants into a cocked hat. For dessert we shared a classic tiramisu, it was more than enough for two, was creamy, and had a lovely balance of coffee flavour. I ordered a bottle of pinot grigio because I didn't want to go overboard with the wine, and that was our only mistake because this food deserved a much better wine with more punch like a sauvignon blanc or a barolo, if you like reds. We will return to try the lasagne and polpette and some more of the bread. This place is a diamond and I cannot recommend it enough, expect a wait for the tables the queue built quickly and in my opinion it could have justified one...
Read moreMy wife had hurt her leg and was resting so I was looking for some takeout for dinner only to find that they don't seem to do that in Sorrento restaurants. The only option is pizza! So we looked for a place with good reviews and this Storico8 Pizza has a 4.9 rating from a few hundred reviews. So popped by to check it out. I was there before 6pm when they opened for dinner but the manager was very pleasant and let me order to come back to pick up at 6:30. Had a nice chat over their specialties which was actually focaccia sandwiches, and I got his recommendation as well as a lasagna.
Came back at 6:30pm and he was waiting for me; only packed up the food at that time so that everything was hot and not steamed in the container. We were staying 3 mins away so it was good and fresh. No pictures as we ate too fast but I can say that this place deserves their 4.9 rating. The food is amazing.
I can't remember the name of the focaccia sandwich but it had slabs of cheese and a local cured ham. Perfect balance! My wife thought I had ordered too much food (as usual) but we finished every bit. The lasagna was her favourite; the pasta was silky smooth. For me the tomato paste was excellent and the overall dish was probably one of the best lasagna I've ever eaten.
It was too bad we were leaving Sorrento the next morning otherwise we would have been there...

Tucked away in a charming corner of the city, this small yet incredibly welcoming restaurant made a lasting impression on us from the very first visit.
Run with passion and warmth by Joseph (Pepe) and his lovely wife, Storico8 offers not just a meal, but an experience. Pepe’s hospitality is second to none—he makes every guest feel like family, and you can tell that he pours his heart into every detail, from the service to the food.
And let’s talk about the food—wow! Every dish we tried was a celebration of authentic Italian flavors, made with love and the freshest local ingredients. From perfectly cooked pastas, everything was simply divine. Each plate was beautifully presented and even better to eat.
