We came home from a 4 night stay at this enchanting hotel on Saturday. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and even double upgraded to a room with a seaview. I could have cried with happiness! And the room did not disappoint: beautifully decorated, huuge comfortable bed, mini fridge with mini bar, massive bathroom and a tv with netflix! There were even electronic blackout blinds! Water was provided each day and if you wanted other drinks in the mini fridge, these were chargeable. Our only feedback was that the air conditioning was not switched on; they offered us a dyson fan instead, but it did get particularly warm on our last night - likely due to the seasonal change. ||Amenities-wise, I particularly loved that bath salts and foam were provided. Each night after a long day of walking, it was a real treat to soak in the tub. You are also provided with about 38546538 towels! Vanity kits are provided. There is a turn-down service. ||Location-wise this really was ideal, as it was slap-bang in the center of Sorrento. You walk out the hotel and you are greeted by a glorious seaview and lots of shops and restaurants round the corner. To get there from Naples, we took a bus bus from the airport, followed by a train to Sorrento, and it was about a ten minute walk from the station. ||Breakfast was fresh and plentiful; options included fresh fruits, cooked breakfast options, omelette station, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses etc. We had the luxury of looking on at the lemon tree garden and the birds whilst enjoying our meal! In the afternoon, we also enjoyed a cocktail (best pina colada ever!) and sunning ourselves up on the rooftop and swimming in the pool. Up here, you can view Mount Vesuvius whilst you enjoy a dip! The pool is warm and comfortable for swimming even in cooler temperatures. ||The staff were so friendly and helpful. We booked a transfer back to the airport to save us time on the train. They were great at recommending a time for us to leave. The transfer was expensive (£180 euros) but we were prepared to pay that, and I'd recommend this as there does not seem to be many ubers running about! ||Overall, I'd like to thank the hotel team for a fantastic and comfortable stay. I'd recommend this for your stay in Sorrento for sure. It is on the more expensive side, but when you walk in, you see why - it is simply stunning. Love From...
Read moreI was here with my husband and our 8-month old for a 3-day stay. It was our first international trip with the baby, and though we had some kinks to work out logistically for traveling with the baby generally, this hotel just happened to work perfectly in that respect. First of all, I sincerely appreciated the kindness of the staff. The concierges and the maitre d of the restaurant all asked her name and remembered it throughout the stay, excitedly greeting her every single day by name, playing with her when they would pass the breakfast table, etc. Throughout Italy people were consistently affectionate and warm to her, but at this hotel particularly they went above and beyond.
Second, the space and location of the hotel made it really livable for a family with a small person in tow. There is green space, there is a pool, a rooftop terrace and bar, an indoor bar in case of inclement weather with a huge sitting room, there is even a covered area in the garden in case it rains. All of us felt like we could really stretch out and relax. And that is before you get to the location question—turn left out of the door and within 50 feet you’re in the thick of the shopping/walking district. Turn right and within 25 feet you’re in a garden piazza on the cliff side looking out at the Bay of Naples. The location was incredibly convenient.
Third, the on-site food is so so good. Breakfast is superb, dinner is so fantastic (the desserts were the best we had our whole time in Italy!). The only food that isn’t far far above average is the terrace bar food. That food was good and serviceable, but my rave review is for the dinner restaurant. Try the passion fruit/peach dessert!!
Finally…the view is what pulls this all together. Almost the entire wall that faced west in our room was glass. Every time I walked into our room and could see out that glass I felt like I was walking up to the edge of paradise. Beyond our balcony there were palm trees and pine trees and orange trees and lemon trees and a few burnt orangey kind of buildings and then beyond that, it was bay and sky and islands. I know not every room will have that view (the incredibly lovely staff upgraded us just because so we weren’t in a base level room), but the terrace does, so everyone who stays can enjoy it...
Read more(First review deleted as the pictures included were deleted showing human hair!!! )||We arrived after a long morning of travelling to find human hair by the bedside table and all over the bathroom floor / on shower head/ in bath. Frustratingly we only noticed after we packed our clothes away and sat down for a drink. We immediately messaged the hotel and asked for the room to be immediately cleaned. They wrote back asking us to go back to reception to discuss a room change. This was mildly inconvenient as we had just spent hours travelling and had just got to the pool to try and relax a little. They then apologised when we got to reception and we were then moved to another room with a slightly better view. However the reception manager did try to suggest it was strange we hadn’t mentioned it to housekeeping when we requested more hangers. As I explained to her the first thing I do when I arrive at a hotel is to ask for more hangers, not to check if there was human hair all over the bathroom floor! In a supposed 5* hotel the assumption is made that the hotel room is clean. We then moved to the next room and that evening I noticed human hair in the bath tub and in the bidet. At this point I was almost tempted to leave the place and I certainly couldn’t be bothered to raise another complaint. The hotel did provide a free bottle of sparkling wine and some stale pastries to apologise. Housekeeping did clean the room properly the following morning and removed the hair. The food was average at best, breakfast was poor, the coffee was weak. Pool service was good but the sun loungers were very tired and were falling apart. When we went to check out of the room on the last day we didn’t need to leave until 3pm but they were unable to leave the tab open until we left the hotel. Something I have never experienced in any 5* hotel I have been in. I have always been able to give the key in and pay the bill upon leaving - not at this place! Our final lunch was inedible! The room we were given to change in represented what I only imagine a prison cell to look like. Horrid and far from the 5* hotel it...
