Just Made (Fatto mo mò) — Restaurant in Sorrento

Stumbled across this little gem in the lanes of Sorrento because the vegan friendly place we were hoping for was shut. Initially, I was lured in by the chalkboard sign stating "vegan options - vegetarian options." Once I had poked my head inside, I just knew this was my kind of place. Although not everything is vegan, everything was fresh and healthy. For those who want their food to be locally sourced, this is the case here. Lots of fresh produce on display on the counters.

The menu was clearly labelled as to what was vegan and what was vegetarian. The choices were great and it was clear that this place is owned and run by someone who understands that "vegan option" doesn't just mean "s* version of regular menu item". The choices are well thought out alternatives. For example, I had bruschetta and, unlike in other places, they had actually created a vegan alternative rather than just removing the parmesan pesto. The chickpea bruschetta is pictured in the review. It was delicious, fresh, well presented, and a really good portion size. I washed it down with a pink lemonade again, very fresh and homemade with fresh berries in.

The staff clearly take pride in satisfying their customers. I caught the waitress failing to hold in a huge smile when she walked past as I, with mouth full, muttered, "Oh my god, this is amazing."

As we left, the owner (I presume) asked if we enjoyed it. I said it was the best we'd had since arriving in Italy 5 days ago. He was so happy he gave me a cuddle!

Whatever you do whilst in Sorrento, make time to eat lunch here. It's fresh and healthy and just feels like you're eating somewhere where they care about their food and their customers.

Our favourite place in Sorrento… Not for the food per say but for the atmosphere, prices and attentiveness of the staff! The outdoor dining area is situated on a busy hub in Sorrento old town. Full of charm and perfect for people watchers you could spend all day soaking in the atmosphere and watching the day go by. Both girls working there are brilliant. The selection of beers, wines and spirts is one of the best in the area and the prices are the lowest we have pod all week. We were regularly surprised and shocked at the bill wondering how it was so low. Over this week we have visited a number of top rated and expensive establishments in the area and Just Made has been the spot we found our selves in time and time again. One night we ate here and ordered a caprese salad and veg bruschetta as we had a large lunch and we found the food to be excellent although the mozzarella was a little hard (only minor criticism) but I like to be honest wherever we eat. This little place is a gem! Nice drinks and food, everything so reasonably priced and it was a pleasure to take a break from expensive pastas and pizzas of the surrounding areas. We had the pesto sandwich and the vegetable bruschetta and some drinks and all were very nice. The gentleman is a little grumpy and doesn’t like to answer questions but nothing harmful, I hope he will improve on that after reading my review, as people need to know what are the veggies in the veggie bruschetta and what fruits are in the fruit juice! It’s ok though we ended up ordering stuff that had the ingredients indicated instead but it’s a shame as I really wanted the veggie sandwich if only I knew what veggies they were. He was ok though, he was funny too and he was still doing his best. The lady is absolutely marvelous, so sweet and charming hence still a 5 star place. They are clearly working very hard to earn an honest living and serving good food in a clean clean place. Perfect spot for people watching too and sipping...
