STOP. Before you book, you gotta hear about this. In the alleyway behind this restaurant, they have a "chefs table". Its behind the restaurant, two 2 top tables outside the kitchen with a sign that reads "Chefs Table: eat what the chef makes, pay what you want" We stumbled across this as we were walking through town having no idea what this was but my husband and I are foodie adventurous people and just couldn't pass this up. We were a little hesitant as we searched online for what to even pay- but Reddit nor the reviews have seen to catch this place yet. Therefore, we took the leap. We sat down, were given the instructions: you pay the price of drinks, you'll be served a surprise 3 course meal-- checked for allergies, and pay your price. WOW. Was this so much fun. The food was amazing, filling, and the olive oil was so good (and homemade) that we bought bottles to take home for gifts. This was SO MUCH FUN. The owner came out and chatted with us, talked about his olive oil and even gave us a tour in the downstairs cellar where the wine and oil are kept. If you are someone who loves an experience, sneak out the back alley and try to score a table.
If you are someone with anxiety and do not know what to pay-- we compared the prices of their restaurant menu (without including the prices for our drinks + oil) we paid $60 a person which is just our opinion-- but always do what you feel comfortable and what you feel the worth is-- truly a...
Read moreFrom the moment we were welcomed to the warm farewell, the service at ReFood Sorrento was impeccable. The staff showed genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and a true passion for delivering a memorable dining experience. We chose two standout main courses: Risotto alla Carbonara (Best Seller): A creative and technically precise reinterpretation of an Italian classic. The risotto’s creaminess, the balance between pecorino and guanciale, and the perfect texture of the rice reflect culinary mastery and a respectful yet modern approach to tradition. Homemade Potato Gnocchi: Light and velvety in texture, made with top-quality ingredients. Each bite was a burst of flavor, showcasing the freshness of the produce and the chef’s skill in blending simplicity with sophistication. The desserts maintained the high standard of the meal, with elegant presentation and well-balanced flavors. To top it all off, we were offered a homemade Limoncello as a complimentary treat, adding a final touch of authenticity and local charm. Technical Highlights: Plating: Impeccable, with refined aesthetics and visual appeal. Culinary technique: High-level, with mastery of textures, temperatures, and flavor balance. Service: Professional, welcoming, and efficient. Ambience: Charming, intimate, and tastefully decorated—ideal for a complete...
Read moreOn our very first night in Sorrento we found a little restaurant tucked away in an alley and had some amazing food. Tonight, 2 nights later, we decided to return and try something new on the menu. We were immediately greeted at the door by the owner who recognized us, called us his friends and proceeded to ask us about our day while he seated us.
Our first night we had a pizza (mozzarella, proscuitto, parmesan, and pistachio cream) and the Risotto (Risotto, red pepper and brie). It was fantastic. This time we had a plain Margerita pizza (with garlic and oregano) and the Ravioli (stuffed with cheeses, and topped in a walnut cream with gorgonzola). OMG. The Ravioli is probably the best thing that I have ever tasted.
After, we were invited downstairs into his wine cellar and showed us his private reserves, told us stories about how he came about some of the bottles he had down there and then offered us to stay as long as we wanted while he went back upstairs to check on the restaurant. As we were leaving, he showed us pictures of his home and farm which provides most of the produce for the restaurant. Tonight, aside from the amazing food, we felt like we were treated like friends. Moments like these are one of the reasons we love to...
