We were so lucky to have stumbled across Vrasa when another near by restaurant would not seat us. At the end of alleyway and up a beautiful dual staircase, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Their garden surrounds the glass interior of the restaurant and we watched as the kitchen staff cut fresh herbs for the nights dinner service.
Starting with the cocktails, they were phenomenal! I got the bourbon drink B. and it was everything I had been looking for since we got to Italy. Well balanced and garnished with orange peel. I had three of them because I know I won't have a better cocktail while I'm here. My wife had the tequila cocktail and white rum cocktail which names are both escaping me but each was as well balanced and we'll garnished as my bourbon drink. Cocktails were a 10/10.
The meal was just as fantastic. We had the Amberjack which was served like a salad with the fish sashimi style on the bottom. Delicate and delicious. I had the Egg and paneer which didn't actually have any paneer in it, but the egg was served soft boiled and the spinach puree on the bottom was definitely reminiscent of an elevated palak paneer. One of the most unique dishes I've eaten in a long time. For a second dish I had the Black Linguina. Pasta cooked perfectly and the black garlic paired perfectly with the calamari to give at earthy taste. My wife had the Carrot Risotto for her second and this really shined. The sweetness of the carrot with the starch of the risotto made you want to keep going back for bite after bite. For my main dish i had the Pork. My god, this was the most tender and perfectly cooked pork I've eaten in recent memory. Served with very light pureed potatoes and chickpeas. My wife's main was the Seabass which was also cooked perfectly and was extremely fresh and delicate. Served with asparagus cut lengthwise and also not overcooked like a lot of veggies we've gotten elsewhere. The best fish we've eaten on our honeymoon. We finished with the chocolate and hazelnuts for dessert which was a very nice end to our meal not being too rich and a nice shareable size after all the other food. 11/10, best food we've eaten in Italy.
The service all night was equally as impressive. We were well taken care of, never had to wait for fresh cutlery or for dishes to be taken away. Cocktails refreshed when required and everyone was incredibly friendly and happy to help us understand the menu. This may not be your typical Sorrento or even Italian restaurant but it was magical. 12/10, one of the best meals I've...

They have a unique take on southern Italian cuisine adding smoke and bbq to all dishes. The servers were helpful and knowledgeable to begin with helping us to decide on the tasting menu. And the first 4 plates were delightful! The fennel dish was a big surprise and was one of our favourites and the katsu sandwich is like crack, it was so good.
The waiting situation was a little odd. We had about 3/4 servers bringing our food over and serving which made it feel a little less structured. But they did a great job explaining the dishes and how to eat them each time.
Now getting to the bad part and reason for the lower score, my wife has a nut allergy and stated this at the start given the particular ambiguity of a tasing menu. We were reassured that everything would be made nut-free. When it came to dessert, they gave us the dessert with hidden peanut butter in (it was the only dish they didn’t explain as they served it; they just plonked it down) which upon consuming made her sick and very upset/anxious. When we told the waiter, he didn’t apologise or say anything just picked the plate up and went to the kitchen. About 10minutes passed and no one spoke to us until they brought another dessert and apologised (but not really just felt like they tried to push it under the rug). They also then seemed frustrated that my wife wouldn’t eat it.
Needless to say the approach they took didn’t sit well with us so we asked for the bill and didn’t eat anymore. The manager did then come over and try to resolve offering discount and a more sincere apology which was appreciated but the approach before this was really quite rude and appalling.
So advice to the restaurant is review your approach to service and how allergies are communicated to the server team. And train your staff on the proper reaction to this situation. Otherwise, this is a brilliant restaurant and I do hope they address this and continue to...
Read moreI am truly baffled at how terrible there was, and going there made me lose all trust in Google ratings. To be fair, we did go there on the day they changed their menu. Please reconsider the entire menu.
First of all, they serve you a little chef bite that tastes like stale mayo on top of a rice crispy. Literally laughing in your face before serving you the worse meal of your life.
The pasta was HORRIBLE. Not bland, not mediocre, not tasteless, it was HORRIBLE. It’s like they threw whatever was about to go bad in the pantry and called it a day. The tagliatelle was so salty and the raviolis had a pumpkin purée inside that was straight out of a can. And they pour a Parmesan broth on top that looks like dirty dishes water.
Then the cod had a stringy texture, very hard to cut, like raw chicken. And the beef tasted like turkey sausage.
That’s without counting the really silent awkward atmosphere and the waiters who are not paying attention to you at all.
This restaurant is a joke. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be a replication of the movie The Menu and straight up laugh at people’s face, but a cute little story about the story of the menu doesn’t compensate for the terrible food and experience.
Thank god for the panini place right next door where we went to eat because we were starving.
I am sure it was a good restaurant before since we have received so much praise about it, but this new menu is...
