Very friendly! Excellent tasting and natural gelato.

Update: we were in Sorrento for 5 days. I tried as many gelaterias as I could during that time in Almafi, Capri, Pompeii...previously, I had eaten at many gelato stores in Venice and Florence and now Rome. Several stores had one or two flavors that compared to Fresco Sorrento, but, the truth is, every flavor that I tried at Fresco Sorrento was delicious. The gelato is not too icy and not too creamy. I also found the flavors to have just the right amount of sweetness for my palate, as I don’t prefer overly sweet desserts. I can endorse the lemon, strawberry, mixed berry, peanut, caffe, honeycomb, mango, and chocolate flavors as all excellent. I liked the gelato so much that I went back a total of 7 times with my niece and nephew to have more gelato.

Arturo and his girlfriend are super nice and personable people. Arturo was a nutritionist who decided to follow his passion to make gelato. He cares about the quality of his ingredients and takes pride as joy in explaining where his ingredients come from. I had been enjoying pesca (peach flavor) at other gelaterias and asked Arturo why he didn’t have peach. He answered that the peach isn’t sweet enough until September.

For many years Bougon Vilea held the Gelato world Champion ice cream title. But now FRESCO has it! This bright and modern little ice cream parlour tucked away behind corso italia is easy to pass by ..but DON'T MISS IT! SERVICE The owners and staff are wonderfully friendly and welcoming. Ther was a tiny FREE trial scoop in a little refrigerated box outside the front thst people can try. They serve amazing bubble tea ..which I'm going back for... ⭐AMAZING FOR VEGANS ⭐ YES! Fellow kind people, not only do they have a great range of sorbets and bubble tea that's SAFE FOR VEGANS, They also have VEGAN CONES for your chilled choice! THESE SCOOPS ARE THE MOST GENEROUS IN SORRENTO!🍦🍦🍦 My wife was unable to finish even the micro tub! So if you want a big serving, go to FRESCO.

I only had the coconut flavor but I didn’t really like it. It had an odd aftertaste, kind of like candy. It didn’t taste like a creamy coconut gelato to me.

Due to the high rating, this is probably just a flavor I don’t like. So I’d like to come back but give it 3* in the mean time.

Edit: came back after lunch and tried the dark chocolate and lemon. To start, dark chocolate was great. Loved the deep chocolate flavor. Also the lemon was perfect as well. The balance of sweetness and sourness from the lemon was perfect. A lot of other gelato places make the lemon too sweet and then you don’t get that authentic lemon flavor. Also, I enjoyed how the person scoops my it explained where the main ingredient came from and why. So now I would recommend...
