Unfortunately this was the worst experience of my 1st time in Italy the whole day was ruined by very ignorant and arrogant staff members. We asked for the menu at 11.45 was given a drink at 11.50 ordered the meal then we were given no bread or other bites to nibble on while others were given bites to nibble on after we arrived first. After waiting for 20 minutes we asked where our meal was and ordered another drink we were told it was coming after 30 mins we asked again to be told it's on its way. Now I ordered a pasta dish which pasta takes 10 mins at the longest and my wife ordered a cheese and ham toastie which takes less than 10 mins which we ordered specifically so it wouldn't be long to come. Now after 40 mins of waiting we decided to get up and leave because of the way we were being treated plus many others who came 10 or 15 minutes after us had been given nibbles plus drinks and there meal. In any restaurant in the world I would expect to wait but not how we were treated, when we got up to leave and asked for the bill there was a big commotion with various staff coming in my face and making comments in Italian. The the owner came up got out a receipt with a time of 12.05 on it not the time we had ordered our food. The owner wasn't willing to listen even when I showed him a photo I took of the place when we 1st got into it and was very aggressive and he said it's not McDonald's which I tried to explain I know it wasn't but he and his staff were just shouting and being aggressive so we left. Now this was our experience of this place and other people might have had a very different experience but as a person who has put on a very large amount of post this was my experience. So I wouldn't recommend anyone who reads this post not to go to this restaurant because of my very bad and...
Read moreAfter hiring a local private tour guide through Italy Tours to visit Sorrento, our guide pushed for my family to eat at this restaurant and went out of his way to make a reservation. He stated multiple times at how great this restaurant was. Unfortunately, it was the worst food and service we had during our 10 day European visit. The food did not present well and tasted bland. We tried multiple dishes: pizza, fish, spaghetti, penne pasta, sandwich and Caesar salad. The Caesar was made with iceberg lettuce. The spaghetti was not fresh pasta and the sauce was tomato and flavourless. The fish was deep fried, however, oily and tasteless. The sandwich and fries were something you would have had as a kid, white thinly sliced bread with crust cut off, thinly sliced processed meat, cheese, and tomato with an handful of french fries. The waiters were not friendly and actually tried to remove food from the table before we had completed our meal. The price was approximately 15-20 euro per plate plus drinks. Overall, we were shocked at the service and food given all the great restaurants we ate at throughout many countries and cities in Europe. The restaurant is located on a corner of a busy intersection which was noisy with people and vehicle traffic, while pigeons walked freely under tables and around your feet. The worst restaurant we have been to in Europe and North America. There are far better options within Sorrento at the same price. Beware of guides who push their own agenda and...
Read moreWell... as a Canadian who can appreciate the venue where you are at and comparing it to others in the area and not my home country.... this one would be a 5 star in Canada also. First off, beautiful and busy area and fun for crowd watching. What impressed me most is they take care of their locals like royalty.. they see them coming and they greet them and find them a seat and served them like family. I loved this! Shows loyalty and respect. Those guys are gonna be around during slow season. Now for my experience. The service was awesome and fun. They are laughing and smiling while working. You don't see that too often anymore especially in a busy place. They move to serve you and they are on you when they see you need or want something. So happy to see this type of old-school service. The FOOD!! OMG! Everything we had was delicious and plenty of it. It tastes homemade and so good. No one bad food plate. The prices were great too. No issues with pricing.. To top it off... they come bring you the bill with complimentary shots of homemade cherry whiskey type drink. (Shooter) not really sure what it was but it was cold and smoothing. And I don't feel those were hidden in the cost of the food, I truly believe it was a gift of "Thank you " for eating there.
Over all, after 2 weeks all over Italy 🇮🇹, my best place to eat.
If back to Italy, I will be back here. ...
