Nino and friends — Local services in Sorrento

What a whirlwind! We walked in and were offered samples of just about everything by a very sweet employee. She did not hold back to make sure we could taste it all!

Every flavor was so rich, nothing artificial. Chocolates stuffed with thin pistachio cream, limoncello, hazelnut. Melon limoncello (meloncello?) that tasted like fresh cantaloupe, so refreshing. Fluffy cookies with cream inside. Various potencies of limoncello up to 35%. An impressive truffle collection, olive oil and balsamic as well.

The last thing she had us try was another limoncello candy. It had a sugar shell and was filled with limoncello. The limoncello was tart and fresh, the shell the perfect balance of sugar. "Surprise! It's limoncello" she said as we bit down.

Seriously such a great experience. We purchased a large meloncello and the last lemon candies but could have bought them out! The pistachio cream was next on my list...it tasted exactly like creamed pistachios. In America pistachio flavor is filled with additives since they're so expensive, so that was a pure treat. Spoon worthy.

Did I look her in the eyes and tell her "I love you"? Yes.

They have a charming limoncello shop in Sorrento that a friend of mine and I visited while on holiday --- HOWEVER, their customer service and attention to filling and shipping orders leaves much to be desired. My friend purchased six bottles of limoncello and several bottles of their specialty vinegar to be shipped to the US, and SHE HAS NEVER RECEIVED THEM! We both have made concerted efforts to contact them via phone and email and when we finally got a response four months after our visit, promising the order would be shipped, still nothing. No email updates, tracking numbers, we're sorry, but we can't fill the order -- nothing! They did offer via the only email correspondence they replied to, to refund her purchase IF she provided them her bank account details via email. Seriously?!?!? You don't share those via email in this day and age -- they should be able to refund back to the card used for the purchase.

Charming to visit, but buyer beware! You may not get what...

Excellent shop and a must visit if you are in Sorrento! The store is full of delicious delicacies and the use of limone in thier food items is just amazing! They have variety of different food products all combined with the lemons and oranges which are the speciality of Sorrento. They have a variety of alcohol too, for example limoncello (one of their the traditional alcohol of Sorrento), meloncello, crema di lemoncello, and many more! The staff here are very friendly and will make you try each and every variety they have in thier shop and explain you as well! Do ask for presence of egg in thier products if you are pure vegetarian as few of the products contains egg. The products are a bit on the upper side but considering the quality and the variet of products, you will be tempted to buy one for sure! Overall it was a great experience trying and experience all the food items in the shop! You get free toffees too after you purchase...
