Acca Punto Bistrot — Restaurant in Syracuse

Unfortunately, the Service and Food was not good. The atmosphere and location is what this place has to offer. That being said, however, the row of overflowing garbage cans next to the out door dining area certainly takes away from the atmosphere.

After asking for a table, and sitting where I wanted, a server approached and asked for my order. No wine or beer was on the drink menu, but I asked for a glass of red wine by name. I also explained I wanted food but needed more time to look. He never returned. I had at least 4 different "Servers" or runners througout the night, but very unorganized.

I had trouble finding a waiter or staff the entire time throughout the expierence to get any service or to place an order. I was planning on sitting and having a few drinks and ordering food, but never was able to get more than 1 drink. It wasn't busy and there was no excuse. There was plenty of staff and only a few tables occupied. it wasn't busy.

I ordered the gelone pizza (mushroom) and it wasn't good. The bottom was burnt, and the ingriedients (the sauce, the dough), didn't taste good. What a shame. I was asked by the person that took my money for the bill if it was not good. I just told him I didn't like it. The nero red wino was also not as fresh or tasting properly for when I had the same over the past 2 weeks at other places. I don't like to write negative reviews, but with so many choices for good food, atmosphere, drinks in Sicily, I wouldn't be able to recommend this place and...

Be prepared to wait as I told the waiter washing glasses what table we were and what we had had (in Italian) and he still made me wait more than a few minutes until another waiter could accept my cash! Tuesday 9 May 2023 to Tuesday 16 May 2023 We visited on our last day (Monday 15 May 2023), just before lunch. The waiters were excellent and proficient in English. I ordered in Italian and they understood me (fortunately). We ordered two coffees at €1.30 each (according to the menu, but we were charged €1.50 each), two glasses of white wine at €6 each and a bottle of water (which never arrived). One of my favorite places in Ortigia, they make fabulous calamari (light crispy batter and the calamari cooked perfectly) and the excellent arancini!!!
