Starter and primi/secondi were bad to mediocre quality. Dinner was definitely disappointing when the cantina served us a (supermarket) tartufo covered with cacao selling it to us as a tiramisu… quite shameless and rude. Having a look during the day; we hoped it would be a place where locals would eat, but that wasn’t the case at all. The owner was very lovely but, we honestly didn’t go there to receive wonderful stories, we wanted good food. The other waiter made us both quite uneasy. He acted nervous and pretentious at the same time. Can imagine must have been hard keeping up the tiramisu=tartufo lie though. What a...

We had a lovely time at Cantina Rampa! Pietro was a fantastic and considerate host and we really appreciate the effort and thought he put in to making our experience as good as possible. We visited the day before to ask if we could book for the next evening and he was very accommodating, even asking for our table preference. On the evening, he was very helpful with the menu and told us lots about the history of the food, the restaurant and Siracusa and was polite and courteous throughout. The food was also great, particularly the baccala. We would...

This is our second time in Ortigia/Sicily - I'm confused by all the positive reviews of this place. To be fair, the service was good and the young fellow who runs the place seemed like a really nice guy. The food, however, was mediocre at best, and expensive for what it was. My meatballs and potatoes were exactly that - straight out of an IKEA restaurant for ten times the price.

Sicily is full of amazing food (particularly if you're willing to wander off the beaten track a bit). Do better and...

This was one of the nicest dining experiences we’ve had among many delicious meals in Sicily. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, the service was excellent, and the ambiance—in an arched stone entryway to an ancient courtyard—was gorgeous. We had the special pasta, which was a house made ravioli stuffed with ricotta and fish in a butter sage sauce; it was wonderful, and so different! The antipasto was a nice small selection of Sicilian delights, and the stuffed pepper was really flavorful.

Our dinner at Cantina Rampa was fantastic and gave us a real taste of Sicily. Everything was perfectly cooked, from the fresh pasta and tender meatballs to the grilled swordfish, and we finished with a delicious traditional Sicilian dessert. As a nice bonus, they gave us free tickets to the museum next door, which was such a thoughtful touch. The great service and cozy atmosphere made it a really special and memorable meal in Siracusa.

A wonderful family run Sicilian restaurant, with a beautiful courtyard. The food was excellent, we started with the fennel and orange salad, then the pasta ala Norma and pistachio ravioli, then ended with the lamb chops. Dessert to finish and all with a beautiful bottle of Sicilian wine. The place was filled with locals and regulars, we were one of the few tourists in there. A wonderful experience.
