This restaurant is a tourist trap!

This is the first time in my life when I walked out of a restaurant in the middle of main course. Everything was horrible. Period. From the staff to the food everything was below any expectations possible for a restaurant in such place.

First of all, the waiter didn’t talk to us, he just stood beside our table and looked at us until we decided what we wanted. The appetiser; octopus salad was good.

However, the main courses pasta with swordfish was tasteless and had little to none of the fish and not to mention the pasta itself was overcooked, you could mistake the sauce for the water the pasta boiled in.

On the pizza buffala we got smoked cheese and very oily aubergine, the entire pizza was dripping oil and fat.

When we told the waiter that it was horrible he just shrugged us off and went on his way and told us to pay inside.

Ive visited many restaurants around the world but this one is by far one of the worst one i have ever visited.

Edit: No its not a mistake i knwo which restaurant I went to :) this refers to the answer of the owner where he is saying that I reviewed the wrong place, I can even provide bank statement to prove it was in fact this establishment that treated me this poorly.

Edit 2: my girlfriend just vomited the octopus that was in the salad...

Avrei voluto dare 4/4,5 ma la cortesia, disponibilità ed ospitalità vanno premiate con un 5* e quindi a pieni voti!! Premetto che siamo arrivati dopo le 22, per cui un ora un "po' tarda" per cenare.. Ci siamo accomodati fuori, e la cameriera gentilissima appena si è accorta che il tavolo era un po' "traballante" ha provveduto subito.. Se forse le avessi detto della mia sedia altrettanto "ballerina" avrebbe sicuramente provveduto anche a quello, ma sono stata io che ho preferito non dire nulla. Abbiamo iniziato ad ordinare antipasto e primo, premettendo che poi forse avremmo optato per un secondo, ma che volevamo aspettare se ciò non creava problemi alla cucina, dato l'orario .. La ragazza ci ha rassicurato dicendo che non vi erano problemi... Abbiamo dunque iniziato con una degustazione di antipasti per 2 pers. e due primi: paccheri con gamberi e funghi porcini delle Nebrodi, e ravioli ripieni di cernia conditi con gamberi, pomodori pachino e una salsa di pistacchio. TUTTO ECCELLENTE! GUSTOSO, SAPORITO E DELICATO ALLO STESSO TEMPO...

Piccola "Nota Dolente" il momento della scelta dei vini : abbiamo chiesto una lista, ma ci è stato detto che non c'era.. Un vero peccato, perché da fuori avevo fatto in tempo a notare un ampia scelta di bottiglie esposte su degli scaffali interni.. Personalmente non amo quando devo ordinare un vino senza poterne leggere le caratteristiche (se riportate) ed il prezzo, anche perché, salvo non si voglia badare a spese, si rischia di ordinare un vino con un importo superiore a ciò che si pensava o voleva spendere. Detto ciò, mi sono premunita di chiedere il prezzo dei 2 vini propostici dalla cameriera che gentilmente ce li ha comunicati, chiedendo però conferma ad un signore (credo il proprietario) che avvicinatosi ci tiene particolarmente a precisare che però tra i due vini c'era una differenza abissale di gusto (ma naturalmente anche di prezzo!).

Terminiamo i ns primi ed attendiamo di poter ordinare un secondo, ma nel frattempo si è fatto tardi, il locale si è svuotato i ragazzi stanno mettendo in ordine e ripulendo..e seppur un po' dispiaciuta di ciò..ammetto che una dimenticanza ci sta.... Allora chiamo la cameriera che aveva preso il primo ordine, facendole una battuta scherzosa "vi siete dimenticati di noi".. le chiediamo se è ancora possibile ordinare 1 solo secondo piatto, e che altrimenti saremmo passati al dolce.. Lei dapprima titubante, chiede in cucina e poi ci dice che possiamo ordinare ciò che vogliamo...senza problemi..scusandosi anzi per l'inconveniente... Ordiniamo polpo alla Luciana.. Ottimo....Di poco sottotono rispetto ai precedenti antipasti e primi, ma capisco che ormai era tardi e per servirci il prima possibile forse si sia perso qualcosa...ma ho apprezzato tantissimo che nonostante l'orario, si siano resi disponibili. Ed è per questo che ho poi deciso di dare 5* a pieni voti!

Nel complesso un OTTIMO POSTO, dove consiglio assolutamente di andare. ECCEZIONALE RAPPORTO QUALITÀ PREZZO. Sono stata più che soddisfatta del prezzo che ho pagato!! I camerieri tutti gentilissimi, dalla ragazza dell'ordine al ragazzo che ci portava i piatti e ce li spiegava.

Un posto sicuramente in cui andare e...

Tucked into one of Ortigia’s breezy side streets, Locanda Del Collegio feels like one of those restaurants you wander into by instinct—and then end up bookmarking for life. With the gentle slope of the alley guiding you toward the sea and a salty breeze dancing through the air, it’s the kind of spot where you sit down for dinner and suddenly lose track of time.

We started with the polpo arrosto su purè di patate aromatizzate, and I’m still thinking about it. The octopus was perfectly charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a silky, flavorful potato purée.

The tagliolini con vongole, zucchine e ciliegino followed—and it was everything you’d want from a seaside dinner in Ortigia. Fresh, light, and full of subtle sweetness from the cherry tomatoes and zucchini, with clams that were briny and clean. It was a plate that didn’t try too hard—and didn’t have to.
