Ambitious new restaurant in Syracuse serving up some really tremendous meats. Great cuts and you need to bring your friends to share one of the larger steaks served her.
Unfortunately, we were just two and couldn't manage to share a cut, so we explored the menu instead. Tartare and smoked salmon were both good, but the main dishes were the star. Beautifully cooked pork belly with a tremendous stock sauce. The grilled catch of the day was also very tasty, but just a bit dry unfortunately. This is a place for meats.
The restaurant is beautiful, as are the restrooms. The staff is extremely friendly and we felt at home. I cannot give a perfect score because they have a little bit to go in regards to the wine selection and serving. One of our waiter knew very little about wine and it was hard to get a good idea of what could be had by the glass. They do showcase many local producers, which is great, but they need to make the wine list more approachable for the customer. A printed set menu is never a good idea for a wine list. Also, please make sure you don't serve warm red wine by the glass.
But the pork belly is the best dish I've had in quite a while, so congratulations to them and if they continue to keep that level up in the kitchen, great things will happen for them I'm sure. They just need a little help with the wine and fine tune the other dishes on the menu.
Thank you for a...
Read moreDining at Ostaria Siracusa was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we walked in until the final bite of dessert, everything was truly top-notch. We enjoyed a full menu — starter, first course, second course, and dessert — and each dish was beautifully presented and incredibly refined. The standout moment was the second course: the meat was cooked to absolute perfection — without a doubt, the best we’ve ever had. Every bite showed real craftsmanship in the kitchen. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They anticipated our needs without being intrusive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. Each course was paired with a carefully selected wine, and the pairings were flawless — enhancing the flavors of the dishes in all the right ways. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining and outstanding service...
Read moreExcellent dining experience in Syracuse. Conveniently located near Ortigia, this restaurant stands out from the regional gastronomic offerings. Although its specialty is meats, the quality of other dishes is also excellent. Not only the quality of the raw material, but also its delicate preparation. In addition, the service is outstanding with highly qualified and kind staff. Deserved the two Forks in Gambero Rosso. I recommend trying the beef tartar and kadaif, the beef carpaccio, fagottello alla sorrentina, and the internal flank plate with Sicilian tenerumi. Also their grilled meats are tender and very tasty (I say this being Argentinean). The desserts are up to par: the cream with chocolate fondant and the lemon dessert to crown an unforgettable evening. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through Syracuse who wants to live a first class...
