We visited Pourquoi Pas almost by accident. It was just around the corner from our hotel and on our last evening we didn't really fancy walking into the main part of town. What a gem we stumbled across. Easily the best meal we had on our 10 day trip. A reassuringly short menu, unlike the usual tourist fare on offer elsewhere. Try the mixed starter plate, it was so well put together with complimenting flavours. The restaurant is owned by a lovely couple. She doing a great job front of house and he working wonders in the kitchen. It doubles as a shop during the day featuring their own designs of all sorts of household items, and us well worth checking out. Can't recommend this place highly...

Prices are very resonable for the food Quality you...

The staff were super attentive and took great pride in explaining the menu and recommending different wines based on the dishes we ordered. Prices were also very good for the quality of the dishes
Many of the other restaurants in Ortigia were more geared towards tourists and this was reflected in the overall quality which was average. Take the short walk over to Syracuse itself and go to Pourquoi Pas - you will not be...
