Sicily #13, Ortigia #2, Italian #6, "Fast food" #1: heard about this place via someone I follow on Google maps. On our first day in Ortigia, my friends went to Il pesce azzurro, and I didn't feel like I sit-down meal and so came here. I ordered a calzone mortadella e pistacchio €2 to go, and it was delicious. There's not a menu inside, but the woman workingt here was very friendly and helpful. On our last day, I came back here and got a calzone anchovy, olive, cheese €3. It was still very good but not as good as the other calzone. In response to another comment here, I'm not sure if the menu items were actually priced differently (there aren't prices) or if I was charged more my second time because I came with my friends who spoke English (my first visit I came alone and spoke Italian). Going to give the benefit of the doubt and say the anchovies made it cost more. Would happily return for quick, yummy food at nice prices!

We had dinner here while staying in Ortigia. We had Caprese salad, ravioli with pistachio, fried burrata, horse fillet with creamed potatoes. It was busy but the food was served pretty quickly. Overall it was ok, a little bit blunt with nothing standing out, salad had no olive oil or dressing, horse fillet was cooked to medium rare as requested but missing any seasoning or salt, we received fries instead of creamed potatoes, not a big deal. Based on reviews we expected more for the price.

This place deserves 10 stars. The wonderful lady makes you feel welcome. We went there three times during our 4 day stay in Siracusa.

The Arancini, had both the eggplant and meat twice was really really tasty. The eggplant lasagna was superb. And the caponata, well let's just say if I never eat it again it's OK because I don't think I could find a better tasting version anywhere 5han from U'Sicilianu Ortigia. Finally I am writing, or trying to write, this review eating a pastry...OMG!!! It's like a big bun (kind of like a Portuguese sweet bun) that is sweet with powdered sugar on top with small chocolate chips. Can life get any better.

So if you are in Ortigia, get your butt over to U'Sicilianu Ortigia. You can...

By chance, while on vacation in Syracuse, we discovered a place where not only did we eat incredibly good food, but we also met wonderful people. The service was outstanding, and the food is homemade and prepared by hand using high-quality products from Sicily. We hope we’ll be able to return next year so we can eat at your place again!

You can find breakfast, lunch, sweets, and beautiful cakes on the menu. Pedro and his colleague (unfortunately we don’t know her name) will remain in our hearts, and we won’t forget them!

Many warm greetings from Vienna, Daniel and...
