Had a truly wonderful dinner and experience at the upscale NUI restaurant. Although the restaurant is part of the Atlantis Bay hotel, it is open to visitors and very much welcoming. The professional and friendly staff is an integral part of the great experience. Our waiter, Salvatore, was truly outstanding and made our evening that much more pleasant, while the Maitre D’hotel was equally attentive and runs the place expertly. The food ranged between great and outstanding. In particular, the raviolis with crustaceans, porcini sauce and truffle shavings were truly excellent, a perfectly balanced combination of flavors. And the newly introduced desert, banana mousse with biscuit, salted caramel, and passion fruit gel, was wonderful, perfectly executed, and once again striking a perfect balance of flavors. This may be unusual to mention, but the homebread and the Sicilian olive oil brought to table upfront were of outstanding quality, indicative of what was to follow and of the attention to detail. The setting of the restaurant is lovely, overlooking a small bay with cristal clear water, and the decor is equally nice. A lovely evening, all in all, and definitely worth...
Read moreAtmosphere: The atmosphere at New Restaurant is impressive. It feels luxurious and upscale the moment you step in. The view of the bay is breathtaking and truly adds to the experience, making the place unforgettable.
Service: The service was outstanding. The staff were polite, attentive, and made us feel valued throughout our visit.
Food: The food, unfortunately, didn’t live up to the high expectations set by the atmosphere and service. The tuna tataki was overcooked and dry, which was disappointing. The spaghetti with Favignana tuna bottarga lacked tuna, making it feel plain and unbalanced. The dessert, however, was creative and delicious, but the main courses were a letdown.
Menu Transparency: We were both given menus without prices, which felt uncomfortable. It raised questions about whether prices depend on the customer, and I believe it’s important to clearly know the cost of what you’re ordering.
Overall: New Restaurant is a beautiful place with excellent service and stunning views, but the food and lack of price transparency need improvement. While it’s worth visiting for the ambiance, the dining experience doesn’t match the...
Read moreWe ate here four times - two fabulous dinners and two luxurious lunches; we were staying in the hotel as a family of 5. The food and service here is first class. Every dish we had was good but the fresh fish (served 3 different ways on request) and grilled beef were superb. The pasta, extras and side dishes were all also very good. In terms on timing and service, the Nui was faultless which is not easy with some of the family having just primi pasta or antipasto. The atmosphere is also lovely at night with the roof retracted so you feel like you’re eating under the stars with a flawless view of the bay. This is not a cheap restaurant with wine is marked up by 200% and expect a bill of around 70-100 euros per head for dinner if you eat and drink freely. Lunch maybe two thirds of that. The choice of Sicilian cuisine and wines is also very good. We had some very special evenings here and enjoyed the food, wine, service and ambience. Worth a trip even if you are not staying at the gorgeous...
