La Paranza — Restaurant in Taranto

Apparently not a place you should visit as a non-italian speaking tourist. After waiting for quite a while we were presented the menu, the waiter that took our order couldn't even bring himself to smile and seemed rather annoyed. We asked if one of the starters (for 20€) was enough to share for two people, he said it was. It ended up beeing maybe 8 small pieces of raw fish with a tasteless tomatosauce. After the starter arrived, we waited and waited. Tables around us, even those that arrived after us (and all full with locals, i suppose) were served their primi, their secondi while we just sat there, getting more and more impatient. After beeing there for 1,5 hrs and only beeing served one plate of antipasti in that time we asked how long it would still take. Just minutes later our order came, giving us the feeling we were completely forgotten and only just now remembered. When the food arrived, the plates were basically thrown at the table without a single word or even an excuse. The food was good, but nothing special especially for the price they ask, it didn't make up the overall experience. The restaraunt was empty when we arrived with the staff smoking. They at us out on the street. I Show them a picture of Spaggetti Marinara from their website and he said yes we make for you. Do you have Ravioli? No. Oh we'll just have one serving of Marinara which we'll share. Out comes 2 plates ENTRE size of spaghetti in a oil and garlic sauce without all the seafood and the tomato sauce like in the picture said thank you and ate. He brings out bowl of bread which we received from all restaraunts in Italy and europe complimentary. Finish our meal. Pays. Iook at receipt and charged 5 euro for bread that we didn't ask for. Say thank you and leave. Restaraunt still has no patrons. They made 22 euro before the clients came. I would have easily paid 22 euro for our two shared dishes but to cover it with 5 euro for a complimentary service...

Cenato alla Paranza il 06/08/2022. Prenotato a pranzo per cenare in 4 amici la sera, senza particolari specifiche. Ci presentiamo all'ora concordata e ci rendiamo conto del fascino della veranda esterna, chiediamo di poter cenare all'esterno. il cameriere, molto garbatamente diniega, insistiamo un po, e veniamo notati dal titolare ( o presunto tale ) il quale si prodiga per accontentarci visionando attentamente le prontazione e ci ricava un posticino per 4 all'esterno, davvero delizioso. Il gesto è stato davvero apprezzato nella sostanza e nei modi. Entre' dopo appena pochi minuti in concomitanza alla consegna dei menu'. il servizio procede in maniera impeccabile. un discreta cantina di rossi buona cantina di bianchi. Ordinaimo portate diverse. In Cucina ci sanno davvero fare ed il pesce è fresco. Le praparazione dei piatti sono belle esteticamente oltre che buone. L'idilio di una cena splendida si è interrotto nel momento in cui la mia amica ( ospite ) , al tavolo comunque posizionato all'esterno del locale e lontano da altri ospiti ha acceso un sigaretta. E' stata invitata a fumarla all'angolo fumatori posto esattamente dietro al nostro tavolo a distanza di 1 metro. Si alza, raggiunge l'angolo fumatori con una battuta ( per nulla arrogante tantomeno maleducata ) al riguardo di doversi spostare di meno di 1 metro per fumare laddove NON infastidisse nessuno essendo al momento piu distanti dagli altri ospiti al tavolo rispetto all'angolo fumatori. La battuta è costata cara, la polemica del presunto titolare ( già così gentile nella fasi preliminari nel riservarci una postazione all'esterno ) , è stata davvero spropositata. Toni molto maleducati ed irrispettosi nei confronti dalla mia ospite da fare strabuzzare gli occhi con polemica protratta per quasi 2 minuti che hanno costretto la mia amica a rispondere a sua volta con maleducazione. oltretutto la polemica si è protratta anche successivamente in maniera incomprensibile durante il servizio. Il conto ? secondo me assolutamente ragionevole per quanto mangiato. Votando l'esperienza: locale: molto bello, caratteristico, ben curato e pulito in una bella posizione. cibo: ottimo conto : ottimo servizio : e come lo giudico????

sono molto in imbarazzo a dare una valutazione complessiva. lascio le 3 stelle sperando che l'atteggiamento del soggetto sia circoscritto ad un momento di sconforto temporaneo ( anche se assolutamente ingiustificabile ed incommentabile ) in quanto, escludendo l'episodio sarebbe stato una recensione a 5 stelle per il rapporto...
