Bistrò 51 — Restaurant in Trieste

The first classier/fancy restaurant i went to in trieste and its not bad! Atmosphere is nice. Immediately smelled like lemon grass upon walkin in, which was very relaxing. The food is decent for the price albiet on the smaller size since its ‘fancier’. The steamed zucchini(?) that came on the house was interesting. The steamed warmness didnt rlly agree with me as a palette opener but it wasnt terrible. We were also served sparkling wine with it which was interesting as i tend to associate the sweetness of sparkling wine with dessert. I got duck as an appetizer and it was 7/10. Duck texture was okay, the cream sauce it came in was fantastic. However the after taste was ruined abit by the orange(?) sauce. Alil acrid. The angus steak was a 8/10. Steak is cooked nicely and my favorite thing on the plate was the mushroom pate. The white dry wine recommended to me was also fine. Bread basket was excellent and flavorful.

little cozy, quiet, chic restaurant with nice and modern decor. cooking is french/modern. we ordered octopus for appetizer, pork filet and duck for entree, and panna cotta for desert. the establishment offered free Prosecco to us which was a very nice touch. food cooking and presentation were very nice, especially the duck and penna cotta, they were sublime. i never order duck these days unless it is authentic peking duck in Beijing as i had many disappointing duck dishes every where else including paris! but their duck changed my opinion, i would go back just for duck and penna cotta! 🤣 service was great and the price was even better! for sure it is a place where we will...
