Tasty cuisine in one of the best place of Trieste. The location is smart and elegant. The personnel is nice, but they could be more accurate on some details (I had a broken glass twice). The real negative point is the rigidity of the menù. I've been travelling all over the World for 32 years and it's the first time that, in a starred restaurant, the guests are obliged to eat the same things, if they chose the degustation menù. If one person at your table doesn't like a dish and wants it to be changed...it will be changed for all the guests of the table! This is just not a good practice. The cuisine needs to be at the customers' service, not the opposite. The cuisine is really tasty, sometimes so much that we don't taste the ingredients properly. We would have loved more finess in some dishes to have a lighter menù. Pasta and desserts are really superb.

I’d like to start first by saying the location and atmosphere is super, I don’t think anywhere else in the city compared. The front of house staff were very friendly and welcoming however from that point the service declined. We were given menus without a wine/drink list and had to ask for them. The food was served promptly and was presented superbly, however lacked any real flavour and some dishes lacked seasoning. It felt the menu was complicated but lacked execution. We weren’t asked once if we wanted an additional drink or top up. When the food was served, it was plonked onto our laps without any introduction. We had better meals for a fraction of the price whilst in Trieste. Overall, a gorgeous setting with real potential but poorly executed.

Love this place. There is enough of attentive staff who also speak other languages. Impressive! The food and drinks were amazing, just love the attention to details and the high quality. We enjoyed the cocktails (signature cocktail Trieste da bere with gin and sambuca), salad and anchovies for a starter and fish and octopus for mains. Every dish was spectacular. What I particularly enjoyed is that they have Gluten free options for bread and pasta. Highly appreciated!!! The deserts were good, I just inhaled mine - a chocolate and coffee tartlet. The sorbet was nice, but a bit on the sweet side. Would happily return to this restaurant any time!

Went to celebrate a birthday dinner with family.

Disappointing to say the least, despite the older reviews giving praise we did not see the more recent ones that reflect current reality. The service was inexcusably bad and the food was below average with okay presentation.

Service started with us arriving for our reservation for three people, then being directed to a table to 2, with the waitress then clumsily adding a placing to the table looking flustered as though she didn’t know how to set it. Menus were brought 5-10 minutes after being seated and was missing the drinks menu. Having tried to look for a waiter to ask for one, it was another 5mins before anyone entered the dining room where they came to take our food order without prompting drinks. We finally ordered both. Eventually a red wine came when we ordered white, the waiter insinuated we were wrong. When we asked him to bring back the menu and showed him the bottle we ordered he learned they had two bottles from the same vineyard on a fairly limited wine menu this wasn’t great. Bread was then served without any butter or oil despite asking it never came. Laughably when the starters were served and one of our party had a salad, they asked for vinegarette to which the staff responded by bringing a bottle of balsamic and oil in their full sized original shop bought packaging. Not what you would expect at any half decent restaurant. The rest of the service was so poor we decided to leave after our entres and get desert at local gelato spot.

Atmosphere, quiet without any music and bright lighting made for a somber environment.

Food, their was a lot of effort but the flavours and combinations didn’t work well. Meals were left under heat lamps too long as they had formed a skin on sauces etc. My starter fish sashimi dish still had the skin left on one edge which made it chewy, I left it after one bite as it was off putting. No staff member asked why or whether I was okay, they just took it away before the entres. Again, very inexperienced service.

It’s sad to see this place must have lost its staff to have been so different to older reviews. I wouldn’t recommend going back until you see more positive recent reviews. I certainly wouldn’t...

I was at Harry's bar on 2-nd of December with my friends hoping to get the emblematic Piccolo cocktail as a fine point of my birthday celebration. Before coming to your bar I had Red in your official site Harri's bar menu you offer the Michlin star Piccolo cocktail and you wrote the price is 14 euro. To our amusement 3 different servants came to our table to say it is not possible to order that drink in the bar and if we want to have it, we ought to go to the restaraunt where the price for it is 50 euro. I wanted to order it, regardless the insulting difference to the customer between 14 and 50 euro for something you advertise in your official site, but your staff did not want to serve Piccolo cocktail in the bar even for 50 euro. I wonder what will be your next great rule- in order to get a Burger, to go to your SPA! Not to mention the tablet we had to read the menu, instead of a normal one, which gives a human touch to a service in a place with high pretenses like yours. I have been many times to Cipriani in New York where Customer is what is important, and all in the service and rules are dedicated to one goal - Customer satisfaction. You, in Trieste, are far from that standard. It is good to make a beautiful Ferrari, but it has to work and drive. I was disappointed by the way this restaurant is managed, my birthday evening was ruined, and I left Italy with a bitter taste. I am still trying to find a logical reason why in a bar someone would have a drink, but would not want to give it to you, even for the ridiculous price of 50 euro. At least, do not lie...
