Since it’s the oldest patisserie in Trieste and my father was having his bday, I decided to be safe and order here a Schwarzwald cake which we both like a lot. Quite pricey ( €55 ) for a 8 people cake, but I knew it was worth it.

We were all disappointed when my father cut it and we saw that most of the cake was basically whipped cream + some chocolate chips and (very nice in this case) cherries. Since the situation (bday) sort of required to have a piece, a couple of us got a piece, but we decided to save the rest (half) to ask for clarifications at the shop.

When I went back and expressed my disappointment, I was first asked if I was a baker (implying I don’t know anything about my favorite cake I ate in dozen other places) and was told that since the cake was partially eaten, I was not entitled to a partial discount or another sweet to make up the price and the “save” the bday at home.

It’s a pity because the place looks great and also their products are otherwise nice, and am really proud of it. But this was a disappointment and I will never come back again given the price paid and the...

A chocoholic's dream! While strolling through the pedestrian zone, I hardly noticed the shop since the shutters of the front windows were drawn against the sun.But I couldn't be deterred from entering. It's an experience for our senses! Eye candy if ever there was one, and the nose is not disappointed either! All kinds of European cakes are filling the air with their aroma. Since it's Easter Week, you find beautifully decorated Easter eggs in all sizes! I went for the chocolatesweets, easiest to transport. A lovely lady behind the counter was doing her best to accommodate my very specific wishes: dark chocolate, no nougat, no fruits, etc. she brought out freshly made truffles and, in the end, lovingly wrapped the box up! A shopping experience like in Victorian times. And most important: the chokies turned out as delicious as hoped for! Melting in the mouth, teasing the taste buds with subtle notes, coming for a very reasonable price, and a memorable...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this delightful pastry shop, and I can’t say enough about the experience! The pastries were simply divine—fresh, flaky, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a little piece of heaven, and the variety on offer made it hard to choose just one.

What truly made my visit exceptional, though, was the outstanding service from our waiter, Miro. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. Miro took the time to recommend his favorites and made sure our table was always taken care of with a smile. His friendly demeanor and professionalism elevated our experience and made us feel right at home.

If you’re looking for delicious pastries and top-notch service, this is the place to go. Don’t forget to ask for Miro—he’ll make your visit...

This historic patisserie, soon to be 200 years old, located near the Canal Grande di Trieste. Visitors from nearby countries will be familiar with most of the flavors offered. Unfortunately, the tradition can sometimes lead to a blind following old recipes and techniques, resulting in vain, uninspired and overly sweet cakes. You can taste the texture and sugar, no other components. The place is busy, as it is frequently promoted, so service can be a bit slow. However, this is somewhat understandable given its tourist but, at the same time hard to justify as well. Overall, you won't miss much if you choose not to visit.
