Bar La Novità — Restaurant in Tropea

Very nice location very friendly, but drinks and food are totally disgraceful. We had breakfast. Granita has huge chunks in it, briosche is dry, croissants have a drop of pistachio's cream, coffee for 2 Eur is below every standard. I am italian, from around the area. I know well our standards, and it is sad to think that we offer this low level of food and tourists may believe this is what we eat... IT IS NOT!! My mom, sister and I travelled to Tropea for the first time together. Our very first meal after a 5am wake-up and 2 train rides from Rome was granita from Cafe de Corso. It was the best granita of my life! I had bergamot and mandarin (2 flavours I had never tried before). My sister had lemon and orange and my mom had almond and coffee. We went back every day for granitas! They are made with only fresh in-season fruit. A must...

We went around 11am on a Sunday and spent around 2 hours there without being bothered by the staff to leave or to order anything else. We had a ciambella with pistacchio and a sort of cornetto with crema (heaven). Definitely recommend, and a lovely place to enjoy people watching. The purple chairs just add a touch of town life feeling. Final verdict = BOOM!! 🤯💥
