A Hidden Gem in Tropea â Unforgettable Steak at Fame da Lupi
If youâre visiting Tropea and looking for an exceptional dining experience, the restaurant delivers not only a warm, authentic atmosphere but one of the best steaks Iâve had in all of Italy.
From the moment you walk in, youâre greeted with genuine southern Italian hospitality. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they serve. But letâs get to the highlight: the steak.
Perfectly aged, expertly grilled, and seasoned with precision, the steak at Fame da Lupi is nothing short of spectacular. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it rivals the finest cuts youâd find in top-tier steakhouses. Whether you go for the classic Fiorentina or a more modern twist, youâll taste the quality and care in every bite. This is meat cooked with respect â both for the ingredient and for the customer.
The wine selection is solid, with local Calabrian reds that pair beautifully with the meat. And the sides? Rustic, flavorful, and made to complement the main dish rather than distract from it.
In a town already bursting with culinary delights, Fame da Lupi stands out â not just for its food, but for its soul. If youâre a steak lover, donât even think twice. Book a table, bring your appetite, and thank yourself later.

Read moreI had a sad experience here! First I was moved from the table, because it was reserved as the waiter told me, even if on the table was no reservation sign!
there was no host at the entrance to welcome us, nor a sign stating to wait until we can be seated.
Second I felt myself robbed: the prices are not high, but the food is few and the slices are very thin! Another big minus is that there is no salt on food, you have to salt it alone! The answer was that they donât put salt in order to save juices in the meat and because some clients are ill and too much salt makes them bad! You can see in the pictures, that there is no place for juices in a 5mm slice of grilled meat! Grilled vegetables without salt have a horrible taste! The salad is so much just to cover the surface of the plate! Again without any taste! From outside the restaurant looks very nice, they have aged...
Read moreWe visited Fame da Lupi in Tropea one evening, drawn in by the cozy atmosphere and the fact that the place was quite busy. For starters, we ordered the mixed antipasto. About half of it was tasty, but the rest felt a bit flat.
For the mains, we went with a pork chop and a dry aged steak. The pork chop was overcooked and bland, lacking much flavor. The steak was ordered medium but came out raw, and the bigger problem was that it didnât really have any taste. We asked for salt and pepper just to bring something out of it. The side of grilled vegetables was ok, but really just plain grilled vegetables without much extra care.
Overall, the meal fell short of expectations, considering the dinner came to over âŹ120. Service was fine, nothing to complain about, but nothing...
