During our week in Turin, my husband and I stumbled upon a charming Malaysian restaurant that captivated us the moment we stepped inside. The air was filled with the enticing aromas of spices and rice, bringing back a wave of nostalgia. On our first visit, we began with the delightful pani puri, which exploded with flavor in our mouths, setting the tone for an unforgettable meal. We then ordered the crispy chicken and beef rendang, and each dish was bursting with flavor, transporting me back to the comforting tastes of home.
The staff were friendly and we had the pleasure of meeting Justin, the owner, who made us feel even more at home with his hospitality. The cozy atmosphere and unique interior design added to the overall charm of the restaurant. Our experience was nothing short of fantastic. From the welcoming ambiance to the exquisite food and attentive service.
So delightful was our first visit that I returned to the restaurant just before heading back to my country for a second round, this time savoring the butter prawns and gui chai tod. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem! Thank you, Justin, and the entire staff, for such a...
Read moreThis restaurant is an incredibly phenomenal find. The food is tasty and flavorful. The chef cooks dishes that will make your tongue dance in delight and your stomach relish in being full. You will want to eat slowly so that you can savor every single bite, while experiencing different flavors that are unique in Turino.
The atmosphere is cozy. It is beautifully decorated, and the ambiance is such a delight. Music plays softly in the background--and when it's jazz, I could stay here all day just reading and sipping beer or coffee. The lighting makes for a nice mood, and would be a perfect place to bring a date, to eat alone, or with a big group of people. There is a lot of seating areas.
The waitstaff are very kind and friendly and take care of you, so much so that you don't feel like a stranger here. The owner is a delight to meet also, as he helps around and can often be seen bringing out dishes or clearing tables. This restaurant is one-of-a-kind, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. Here is one place you will be glad to have visited...and will probably visit again and again and again....
Read moreI went to Justin's restaurant with a friend who also likes Asian-inspired restaurants. First of all, the location is everything you'd imagine of a cozy Italian building: A narrow building facing an intersection with warm exposed brick and elegant lighting. Once inside, the tables and settings are perfect. We sat on a tiny balcony where the waiter brought an inlaid table to serve our food. The place settings were European-Asian inspired, with unique fabrics for the napkins and tiny guilded espresso cups. I've never seen anything like it!
I am not an expert on Malaysian cuisine, but I am a former New Yorker, and the food reminded me more of authentic restaurants I've eaten in there than any of the ethnic restaurants I've tried in Torino. Everything we ate was delicious, and as we were somewhat limited in the kind of wine we could drink (allergies), Justin recommended a hard cider that matched our order perfectly.
And the prices were quite reasonable for the quality. I will definitely...
