The best gelato experience I've had in Italy. I can't say the gelato was outright the best I've had in Italy (that coveted title goes to Cremaria Mascarella in Bologna). But the service was something I haven't experienced anything close to in Italy, nor anywhere else. In a lot of gelato places, especially in more touristy cities, staff seem to begrudgingly let you try a sample or two. Here, however, I asked to try a flavour and the server gave me a huge spoon and went on to give me samples of flavours she though would pair nicely, or one's that I simply must try. I ended up with about 7 spoons in my hand before ordering! Price is good too, the cups don't seem that big at first, but they fill the cup and then put basically another cups worth on top!

Sono stata da Mara dei Boschi diverse volte e ho sempre riscontrato qualcosa che non mi convinceva pienamente a livello di gusto e consistenze ma suppongo che fin qui si possa trattare di qualcosa di soggettivo. Qualche giorno fa invece si è verificato un disservizio abbastanza evidente e non ho apprezzato la risposta del personale al mio far notare la cosa. Avevo già preso il gusto sacher in passato, e sapevo che venisse servito solo in coppetta perché ottenuto grazie a uno strato di composta di albicocca sul fondo e uno di gelato al cioccolato fondente in superficie. Specifico che la lavagna ancora specificasse che fosse disponibile solo in coppetta e non in cono, il che significa che la stessa modalità era ancora in vigore una settimana fa. Alla richiesta del gusto sacher, noto che l’addetta pone direttamente il gelato nella coppetta, successivamente l’altro gusto, al che le chiedo se ci fosse la composta e mi risponde la collega, asserendo che questa si trovi già all’interno del gelato, che altrimenti sarebbe risultato “ancora più fondente” (?). Do il beneficio del dubbio, prendendo in considerazione che possano aver cambiato la ricetta, ma all’assaggio dell’’albicocca nemmeno l’ombra. Non che il cioccolato fosse cattivo ma non era il gusto che avevo chiesto. Ci sta la dimenticanza, ma alla mia richiesta avrebbero potuto anche aggiustare in corso d’opera senza inventare giustificazioni. Anche perché mi sembra strano che nessuna delle due sapesse come si componeva quel gusto. Aggiunto che anche l’altro gusto, mela e cannella, aveva davvero poco sapore, la cannella era abbastanza impercettibile e la consistenza molto sorbettosa,...

This Ice cream shop was the best discovery of Torino for me. This is definitely the best gelato you can find. The staff was incredibly kind and let us try sample of almost every flavor they had. Pistachio was my flavor of choice as usual, but this one tasted superior to every other I had. I would highly recommend trying the "Orange flavored dark chocolate"!!
