Botanical Garden of Turin - University of Turin — Attraction in Turin

I visited these gardens this morning, and although it is a pleasant place, it is very 'underwhelming' as another reviewer puts it - even for €5... Two of the three greenhouses are closed (and will be for a few months yet) and the public is NOT informed of this before entry. (I expressed my overall feelings to the staff on my way out and they admitted it is their fault). The South African greenhouse is small, disappointingly 'ordinary' in content, and difficult to get around with a 60cm-wide path for people going in both directions... In the rest of the outdoor space, the plants are very 'ordinary', and many are already in my garden... I also think the labelling could be better done, as some plants have several labels close to it and it is not always clear which is for which plant/variety. Not worth it for the price. Why not for a couple of euros to participate...

it was a surprise to discover this garden, that isn't that much known from the locals as well, it is nice and quiet despite it isn't the best one, there aren't a lot of plants and flowers, but the location, close to the Castle, is very nice. Una piccola gemma verde nel cuore di Torino! Ho visitato l'Orto Botanico di Torino nel Parco del Valentino e ne sono rimasto davvero entusiasta. Pur non essendo un luogo di dimensioni grandissime, la sua ricchezza e varietà mi hanno piacevolmente sorpreso. Le serre sono affascinanti, con una vasta collezione di cactus e succulente davvero particolari. Anche le aree esterne sono molto curate, con piante bellissime e angoli suggestivi, come il laghetto delle ninfee. Ciò che ha reso l'esperienza ancora più speciale è stata la gentilezza e la disponibilità del personale, sempre molto carino e pronto a dare informazioni. All'uscita, abbiamo avuto la piacevole sorpresa di acquistare una bellissima piantina grassa e ci hanno persino regalato una piccola piantina di pomodoro! Un gesto che abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo e che testimonia la cura e la passione di chi lavora qui. Un luogo perfetto per una passeggiata rilassante, per imparare qualcosa di nuovo sul mondo vegetale e per godere di un'oasi di pace....
