Assaje — Restaurant in Udine

We were visiting this place for the second time! The first visit was an extra ordinary good one and we felt very well as well the food was good. Therefore I have given during my first rating five ⭐️

Due to that nice experience, we have sent als friend to the pizzeria to have a good pizza there. Which unfortunately wasn’t the fact!

By returning now from our summer vacation and by passing Undine, we couldn’t resist to stop and have our lunch at this place.

We were extremely shocked about the poor experience we have seen this time!!!

It is simply unexplainable how during such a short time span a nice and really fancy place could turn in such a horrible experience!

The pizza is super oily and with absolutely no taste and burnt!

The staff absolutely unprofessional super bored and not interested into customers at all, even if the place is completely empty we were completely neglected by them.

While entering the Pizzeria you could see cutlery lying on the floor, which was not collected neither cleaned.

It was a very hot summer day and the mortadella was kept outside by temperatures far over 25°.

ultimately we have paid over 85€ for absolutely horrible experience!

Hope that my feedback it’s useful for every other customer to not pass this kind offer of experience as us!

Mi esprimo dopo aver mangiato qui per 2 cene, distanti di mesi nel tempo. La pizza è la "classica napoletana", quindi un po' più piccola delle solite a cui si è abituati in zona, col cornicione bello alto, la pasta tirata sottile, tanta salsa e poca mozzarella. Per i miei gusti un po' "annacquata", mentre la pasta della base è molto buona, saporita e salata il giusto. Tutto sommato il servizio è discreto. La seconda volta che ci sono stata eravamo in 8 e hanno sbagliato l'ordine a me, quasi completamente. Mi hanno inizialmente consegnato una pizza con l'anduja (nessuno al nostro tavolo l'aveva richiesta), mentre avevo ordinato una semplice focaccia, che fortunamente è arrivata poco dopo. Hanno anche consegnato le mie crocche baby (molto buone) nello stesso piatto del fritto misto ordinato da un amico e a lui solo destinato, ovviamente il cameriere non aveva specificato che erano i 2 ordini serviti insieme, cosa che comunque non trovo corretta. Può succedere a tutti di sbagliare, ma così? Parte del personale è molto paziente e disponibile, un'altra parte invece è troppo sbrigativa e tratta con sufficienza i clienti quando chiedono delucidazioni su alcuni piatti e bevande, credendosi addirittura "simpatico". È possibile ordinare lattine di tè, ma questa opzione non è specificata su nessun menù, né cartaceo né digitale. Così come è possibile ordinare una focaccia ovviamente. I dolci hanno tutti lo stesso (non modesto) prezzo, da quelli sempre presenti come il tiramisù a quelli del giorno, al semplice gelato. In entrambe le occasioni ho ordinato il tiramisù, la seconda volta con la Nutella, ma viene comunque servito con una specie di panna accanto. La presentazione è molto scenica: viene portato all'interno di una moka caffettiera, con del ghiaccio secco posizionato nella parte inferiore a fare effetto fumo, tutto curioso quanto di fatto inutile. A fine pasto portano una selezione di digestivi (limone, melone e amaretto/mandorla), sicuramente apprezzati da chi li beve più o meno abitualmente (non io). Non è possibile pagare in contanti. Lo spazio è presente sia all'interno sia all'esterno, i tavoli non sono tantissimi e sono posizionati troppo ravvicinati, tanto da urtare le sedie dei vicini alzandosi. Lo spazio all'interno in teoria è climatizzato, ma alla seconda cena l'ingresso era lasciato spalancato e il fresco non si percepiva affatto. Seriously I do not know how this place could less than 5 stars! We had a lovely night out at Assaje! We got absolutely lovely welcome and from the beginning the atmosphere was just brilliant! Served Prosecco before we got a table, the crowd of people waiting outside was taken care of by the owner and served snacks and drinks. Inside we got great service, fast and pleasant in every way. Pizzas were fantastic. I've ordered one of the unusual one with pistachios and stuffed crust and it was awesome. The way the desert was served was unbelievable, Tiramisu came in a coffee kettle with fog coming out, how cool is that! We also got sweets at the end and were given colourful sweet liquors to try.
