Il Bacaro Foresto — Restaurant in Udine

I had a wonderful lunch here today. (So good, in fact, that I'll go back this evening.) I had one cicchetto--a scallop and shrimp in a very tasty oil. Then a small plate, with scallops and shrimp in pasta (panciotti). These came with wonderful bread and I had a Select spritz, a very Venetian spritz. For dessert I opted for crema catalana. I ate in the small courtyard. The staff were friendly, the environment was comfortable and oozy, and the food was great.

I went back for an early dinner. While the restaurant is open all afternoon, the kitchen is not, and it was closed when I got there. However, I could choose from the large variety of prepared foods that were available. This was an even better option than ordering a couple of dishes from the menu. I had, among other things, baccala', sardines in saor, seafood lasagne, and eggplant...

What a great experience! We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. We were so happy that we got the table since this place is always super crowded. Booked on Google, yet, we were only on the waitlist. The restaurant was nice and careful enough to send us a confirmation via WhatsApp that there was a table for us. Normally, other will say just come and see.. Ambience: casual, comfortable Service: super nice and helpful. Il ''dotre',' una crasi numerica utilissima per l'acquisto del pane. (Es.: dame dotre mantovanine). Il ''trecuatro',' numero massimo di spritz prima di barcollare, e si smette di tenerne il conto. (Es.: me so ciavà tre cuatro sprisseti, so ndà in asèo) Il ''seteoto'', il numero perfetto per ordinare crostacei al Mercato di Rialto. (Es.: ti me da seteoto gambaroni?) I ''do ponti e na cae'', per misurare latitudini, longitudini e ogni tipo di distanza. (Es.: vara che no xe lontan, do ponti e na cae, ti xe za rivà) La ''diesena'' non una semplice decina, il numero varia a discrezione del venditore, la diesena è un punto di domanda tra il nove e l'undici (Es.: go magnà castraure, sarà stae na diesena.) La ''s-ciantina'' o il ''fià',' numero prossimo allo zero assoluto, per richiedere un assaggino e farsi un'idea. (Es.: me basta na s-ciantina, de manco, eco: un fià massa') Il ''massa'' è quel numero che si usa per descrivere un eccesso considerevole.
