Laboratorio del dolce - Udine — Restaurant in Udine

I know this patisserie since the previous owner -together with his wife- ran it in the city center, close to where the Udine castle is. During Covid I found out that it has been closed because the building where they had the previous shop has been purchased and restored so I thought that they would have never open again. I was terribly sad. But they found this new place and Gabriella, the current manager and main Chef, runs it now assisted by Danilo the old MasterChef. There’s such an amount of years of tradition and great expertise in making sweets that you can clearly see the results in what they produce today: high-quality ingredients, resulting in delicious and very well balanced, pastries, and cakes. They also sell bread and they make coffee and cappuccino in case you want to sit and enjoy for example a nice croissant with vanilla cream, chocolate or marmalade or even natural. What an absolute gem in the heart of Udine! Laboratorio del Dolce offers an incredible variety of sweets and coffees that left us completely delighted.

The staff here is super friendly, and they even spoke Spanish (Elisa), which was a lovely surprise. The eclairs were a highlight—so delicious we couldn’t resist trying everything!

The peaceful setting by the canal made our visit even more special. Plus, they kindly helped us store our bags, making our bike tour through Udine much lighter. Can’t wait to return!

Avete un leggero languorino o voglia di qualcosa di buono?

Evento particolare da chiudere nel più dolce e squisito dei modi?

Volete davvero stupire qualcuno? Parenti, amici, semplici conoscenti chiudendo una cena con le papille gustative trasformate in fuochi d’artificio?

Non avete alternative, il Laboratorio del Gusto è l’unica soluzione che fa per voi! Professionisti di squisitezze dal 1956, 68 anni per perfezionare la tecnica della seduzione dolciaria… ascoltatemi, non potete sbagliare!

Io mi sono rivolto a loro per ben 2 torte in un solo fine settimana: un compleanno e un matrimonio… SPOILER? In entrambi i casi non è avanzato nulla. Tutto apprezzato e avidamente spazzolato, fortuna che sono riuscito a fare delle foto e a nasconderle, altrimenti mi avrebbero mangiato anche quelle.

Il personale è squisito, come le loro creazioni, si mettono a disposizione dei clienti e li consigliano nelle scelte e, come nel mio caso, vanno oltre il possibile riuscendo addirittura a superarlo. Eccezionali!

Ah, quasi dimenticavo il laboratorio è molto accogliente e prevede una parte dedicata anche al consumo sul posto di paste e prodotti salati, accompagnati da un ottimo caffè!
