Tourist trap. I don't often write bad reviews but this place really surprised me. The cheese selection was ok but a bit pricey. The accompanying bread was stale. Not a bit stale but fully stale as in hard. The really off putting bit was their reaction to me asking what the "servizio a persona" meant. Rather than answer my question they got really heated and demanded I follow them outside to see it listed on the menu. I told them I just want to know what it means and they relaxed a little - they must often have people debate it since they jumped from neutral to aggressive so quickly. Seems a pity as there are so many other positive reviews but my review is based on my experience. Hopefully if you eat here you don't get stale bread and...

Arriving in Pienza as part of a bus tour, we were looking for a quiet spot for lunch, and found ourselves here. Before we took a seat, we were advised they served "no pasta, no coffee", and that was fine by us.

We both had crostone - my husband's with pecorino, salami, and fig jam(I think!), and mine with pecorino, pistachio cream & pancetta.

I stuck to water, but my husband washed his down with one of the Italian craft beers on offer (an Alta Quota Delizia). Total: €17.50.

Everything was very tasty, and we'd probably have eaten lunch here every day...

Queríamos tomar un vino y el dueño no nos dejó sentarnos si no comíamos. Decidimos tomar un queso con el vino, y estaba ajerezado, el queso bueno … pero no te dejan sentarte a beber, así que picamos… mal hecho (9 € cuatro trozos de queso, y los vinos 7 cada uno)… al final palmamos … desaconsejo. Durante los escasos 20 minutos que estuvimos echó el dueño a 2 parejas con el mismo argumento… comer si , beber no… Te respondo a todo a lo que alegas. Respecto a que estuvimos mirando para pedir algo de comer, y no solo beber, si y lo que únicamente queríamos era tomar una cerveza. Tenías mesas vacías … así que no era necesario tu descortesía … no solo conmigo sino con varios clientes que no les dejaste sentar.., y después de estar unos 20 minutos … nos fuimos con varias mesas vacías … mal. Respecto a dirigir … dirijo varios negocios con muchos empleados y de cara al público … así que si algo sé!!! es de crear negocios y que funcionen (llevo más de 30 años) Es cierto que tienes los precios … pero tu descortesía supera con creces tu orgullo… así no vas a ir por buen camino … y menos ofendiendo … estás para agradar y no lo contrario. Te doy un consejo gratuito … EL CLIENTE SIEMPRE TIENE LA RAZÓN, no el dueño Disfruta de lo que has ganado Creo que los españoles no te caemos bien… así que … chicos ya sabéis qué hacer y dónde ir … a otros sitos (como bien dice el dueño, amablemente) Y acepta las críticas… te irá mejor, que no las aceptas lo más mínimo , y aprende...
