If you are able to eat at Trattoria Latte di Luna, do it!! It is easily the best pasta we have had during our time in Tuscana. The staff are amazing, and we were lucky to meet the grandma, mom and dad that made our dishes. They went out of their way to make a special dish for my son and then brought us a sample dish not on the menu because we expressed our love of spicy food. The pici is delectable and the fact you can customize your preferred pasta with the sauce of your choice makes the experience unique to you. We particularly loved the pici and gnocchi pasta with the caci e tartufo (with freshly shaved tartufo/truffles on top) sauce that is rich and creamy and the pomodoro sauce, which is so fresh and flavorful! We had plans to get gelato somewhere else but after experiencing the amazing food we decided we had to order dessert here too. We had tiramisu (made by Carmella, daughter/granddaughter of the owners, our fabulous waitress!) that managed to be both light and creamy and the perfect end to the best meal we've had on our trip. Thank you to the Trattoria Latte di Luna family and staff for the...
Read moreAbsolutely awful experience – avoid this place! In the truffle gnocchi, we found a long hair deep inside the dish (and apparently this is not the first time – just look at other reviews!).
When we called the waitress, instead of apologizing, she got defensive and told me I should have left the hair in the plate and not taken it out – but of course I had to check what it was first! Even worse, she tried to explain that it was probably a thread from her bracelet and showed me the bracelet on her wrist (!!). This is beyond disgusting and completely unprofessional – there should never be hair or threads from staff jewelry in a customer’s food.
The lasagna was just as bad – totally tasteless and so watery it looked like soup, with everything floating around.
At the end, I refused to pay for the gnocchi, and honestly, I regret paying for anything at all. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Stay far away from this restaurant – hygiene and customer service are...
Read morePlease go eat here! If you want Tuscan home cooked food by Italian grandma, this is the place. The food is literally cooked by an Italian grandma who I think opened the restaurant for many years already. Everyone was welcoming and the food was heavenly. I had like 100EUR per person fine dining in Tuscany resorts and it did not hold a candle to this place. We had roast pig a few times in Florence and Tuscany and this place was the best. I also ordered mushroom lasagna which was "grandma's recommended menu" and it was... so good... My wife who normally doesn't like cheesy food like Lasagna was even amazed by the dish. You don't get to drive to these medieval towns much in your lifetime but this place makes me want to go back. The dessert was also amazing. One of the best I ate in Italy during my 1 month stay for sure. It's always these kinds of small home cooked places that surprises...
