Trattoria La Chiocciola — Restaurant in Unione dei Comuni Valdichiana Senese

A small and cozy local ristorante in Pienza city. I believe La Chiocciola is run as family business. Good hospitality from the family.

We order Fiorentina (1.1 kg) which is a Tuscan style t-bone steak. In my pictures, the beef is cooked in medium to well done because I want it that way. If you do not specify your preference, it will be served in medium or rare.

We also tried Pici or homemade pasta which you shluld not miss when travel to Tuscany. So good.

Local wine is doing fine. Very good price, almost similar price to beer.

I cannot say anything about the food because we were not allowed to sit down with our very well-behaved dog. Of course it is the restaurant owner’s rules but this is the first time in 2 weeks travelling around Tuscany that our dog was not allowed to go in. Even in top notch restaurants, the dog was allowed. And this restaurant was much more „laid back“, and it was bigger and the tables further apart than in other restaurants we‘ve already been to. It was a pity, we would have loved to try this restaurant because it was a recommendation...

The perfect meal. This is a Restraunt that has continued the traditional menu without cutting corners. Currently our favorite place to eat in Pienza. Generous portions, delicious ingredients, high quality filets cooked to perfection and amazing selection of local produce at reasonable prices. Your whole family will leave with a happy full tummy and you won’t feel out of pocket.
