The winery tour was a lot more rushed and basic than the other 2 that I did in the area. On the other hand, it was only my party which was nice and private. After the rushed tour, the guide was very talkative about other things related to the winery and process, and answered all of our questions which was nice. The wine tasting itself was less structured than the others, but it was still good.

Questa è stata la nostra prima visita a una cantina sotterranea con degustazione a Montepulciano, e sebbene il luogo sia davvero affascinante e ricco di storia, purtroppo l’esperienza ci ha deluso. Dopo 10 giorni di viaggio in Italia, è stata l’unica esperienza che non ha soddisfatto le nostre aspettative. Luigi, la persona che ha condotto la degustazione, si è dimostrato competente, ma l’atmosfera è diventata presto poco professionale. Il suo atteggiamento è sembrato molto focalizzato sulle due ragazze del gruppo, con conversazioni personali e un tono che ci è parso più flirtante che professionale. A un certo punto ha persino chiesto: "Siete già ubriache?", una domanda che ci è sembrata fuori luogo in un contesto dove il vino dovrebbe essere apprezzato con rispetto e moderazione. Alla fine della degustazione, ci ha detto che aveva poco tempo e che doveva andare via, facendoci capire che dovevamo pagare e andarcene — cosa che non è stata detta alle ragazze, alle quali ha anche offerto una bottiglia di vino. Questo ci ha dato l’impressione che il suo interesse fosse altrove, e non rivolto a tutti i presenti in modo equo. L’atteggiamento ci è sembrato poco professionale e anche poco gentile. L’unico aspetto positivo è stata la signora al piano di sopra, che ci ha accolti per una breve degustazione gratuita prima della visita in cantina.
