L’Bacaro de Bischeri is a beautiful little sandwich shop in the heart of Venice that specializes in fresh cut meats, delicious spreads, and a focaccia bread that’ll make your mother cry a singular tear of joy. Having now been to All’Antico Vinaio (the “king” of Italian sandwich shops), I can definitively say that this place rivals Vinaio in flavor, value, and freshness. In my opinion, it’s a must-try for Italian sandwich lovers

The sandwiches looked so good that I ended up ordering three of them: The Gino: fresh sliced chicken, mayo, mixed greens, picante sauce, tomato The Viola: thick olive spread, fresh mozzarella, mixed greens, tomato The Lorenzaccio: fresh sliced ham, mustard, arugula, sun dried tomatoes

My personal favorite was the Gino because the mix of picante sauce and Mayo gave it so much flavor. But what I loved most about this place is that it’s just one guy behind the counter in a sick fedora, hand slicing these beautiful hunks of meat fresh for each sandwich. He is so welcoming, and everything was cut and prepared on the spot in front of you for only ~6 euros per sandwich. Honestly my pictures don’t do this place justice at all. You’ll need to try it...

I liked this place so much, I went twice! I was recently in Venice for Carnevale for 10 days, and was staying near Ponte di Rialto. This place was high on my "to eat at" list since 1) it was nearby and 2) great reviews on the cicchetti. Shortly after arriving in Venice, I took a walk around and through the Rialto Bridge, and stopped in here for my first food and drink in Venice. With my broken Italian I ordered a fantastic vegetarian cicchetto which had an olive tapenade, veggies, and incredible caramelized onions on top. The employee recommended a refreshing beer for me, and this just hit the spot after 18+ hours traveling. I went back a few days later and asked if they could provide a vegetarian tramezzino or panino. The staff were able to accommodate me, and the same kindly employee who had first helped me built my panino to specifications. This thing was HUGE - I could not eat the whole thing, and the bread itself was phenomenal - a little salty with a hint of rosemary. They also have canned Aperol Spritz to go. If you want to make a brief pitstop in the middle of your busy Venetian day, stop here for tasty bites and friendly service (especially if you make an attempt...

I've stumbled upon a real gem in Italy: a sandwich shop where the love of meat and perfection meet. The Mortadela and various meat sandwiches here are the epitome of culinary excellence.

Their selection is diverse, ranging from small to gigantic, ensuring there's a perfect sandwich size for every appetite. The full-size sandwich is a true behemoth, piled high with generous layers of top-tier Mortadela and other meats, fresh from local sources. It might seem a tad expensive at first glance, but trust me, it's worth every cent.

The taste is just unparalleled - every bite is a burst of umami and a beautiful harmony of textures. The bread, fresh and slightly crunchy, is a perfect vessel for the meaty goodness inside.

Whether you're a casual sandwich eater or a hardcore meat lover, this place should definitely be on your culinary itinerary while in Italy. Every sandwich is a masterpiece and offers an authentic taste of Italian...
