1 Star – Dishonest Billing, Pushy Server, and Rude Service While the food itself was OK, our experience at this restaurant was frustrating and uncomfortable due to dishonest billing and extremely poor service.
Beware if you go to this restaurant—it’s a classic tourist trap. The location and menu might draw you in, but behind the scenes, it feels like a setup to overcharge and pressure unsuspecting visitors. There are so many better, more honest places to eat in the area. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
We ordered meatballs, but were charged for spaghetti and meatballs, which we never asked for. We also ordered one small bottle of wine, but were charged for a full bottle. These discrepancies added up to about $40 more than what our total should have been.
On top of that, our server was pushy and gave off bad vibes from the start. For some reason, he insisted we get French fries, even though we clearly didn’t want them. My husband eventually agreed—not because we wanted them, but because we were honestly concerned they might tamper with our food if we refused. That’s how uncomfortable and pressured the situation felt.
When the bill came, not only were we overcharged, they also included a 15% service fee and the server also has the audacity to tell us the tip was not included, despite the unprofessional service and added charges.
If you’re a tourist in the area, watch your bill carefully and be cautious. It really felt like we were being taken advantage of, and the experience left a bad taste in our mouths. The one star is only for the quality of the food—everything else was...
Read moreOverall, I give this place a 2 star because they made two mistakes that they did not seem to bother to care about or make up for. First up, they did not repeat our order to us, and impressed upon us that he had it perfect. Maybe that was my mistake as the diner? No, not at a restaurant that automatically includes +12% service. The least you can do is repeat the order. Second, they brought us fried calamari when we, a table of 7, ordered grilled calamari. The table was quite clear, we don’t want fried food. They took several minutes to correct the order and bring out grilled calamari, but we were out of wine having had to wait. No offer of some house wine, but no harm it’s just one mistake. Then comes out our food. Our dad was quite clear that he wanted a seafood risotto, just like what our mom ordered. But we got, after 6 correct orders, another incorrect dish, a vegetarian risotto. Of course we sent it back, but our dad had to wait until they recooked the order (the risotto was not colored in the vegetarian dish, but definitely had the seafood broth in the second dish they brought us). So another mistake on our dinner, with no offer to make it right to us. That’s poor service. The food was just okay, nothing spectacular or that I’m going to remember. I’m going to remember their mistakes at dinner. An apology is just words, anyone can mumble out “sorry” and walk away knowing they will never see us again. Avoid this tourist trap, there are similar expensive shanties that will take your money but at least give you some limoncello to make you leave with a smile....

We were unfortunately lured into this place after a friendly guy stopped us on the street and showed us some mouthwatering TikTok videos of their food. It looked amazing – but that was the only good part of the entire experience.
Once we were seated, the atmosphere shifted completely. The staff, especially the person who took our order, was incredibly rude. I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking it might be a language barrier – but things only got worse.
Our food took 45 minutes to arrive. When it finally did, it was stone cold, tasteless, and clearly not freshly made. We asked for parmesan cheese for our pizza and only received it after asking three times and waiting another 20 minutes.
No one checked on us throughout the meal. When we asked for the bill, they refused to bring it to our table, telling us to go inside to pay – even though we saw them bring bills to other tables.
Then came the scammy charges: a 10% “coperto” fee (despite no bread or extras) and a 12.5% service charge. When we questioned this, they claimed it was a “mandatory city tax” – a blatant lie. Service charges are optional and at the customer’s discretion.
To make things worse, the same person who lured us in turned aggressive when we challenged the charges, even shouting at us in Italian – it felt abusive and completely uncalled for.
This place is not just a disgrace to the food industry, but a stain on Italian hospitality. Don’t let them ruin your trip –...
